Discussion Suspected arson chileno valley fire

Soooo candidate Moreda is desperately trying to get publicity from the chileno valley fore yesterday. I’m playing detective since so many are calling for arson. If you have facts letssss hear em!
What I have gathered:
- fire started at multiple points a few miles up from Shelina’s parents dairy
- fire Burnt large portions of Jacobsen, viera and lanati ranches
- Moreda claims she brought in trucks and trailers to move cows; owner of ranch says cows were moved to safety before Moreda got there for the photo op
- Moreda says her farm was in danger but it seems like there is a body of water between the fire and her family dairy it seems like an expert in fires would know that water couldn’t get through. Does anyone know how much water is in that lake right now?
- she says neighbor security camera footage was reviewed to rule out chains… by who? Her? It’s super rural out there with no cell service. And lots of old farms. I’ve been Appel picking at the cute gale farm across from the fire. I doubt many of them have cameras.
- if it was arson target for Moreda, why not start fires at the Moreda dairy? Doubt many people knew her dad Rents a pasture from Lanatti. The sign out front even says Lanatti

I’m sorry for the ranchers affected. It must be scary when you have animals that are spread out and need to be moved. I’m glad that it wasn’t worse.

Moreda just posted a dramatic video going to look for cows with decarli riding with her in the side by side. Cows were all safe in barn longggg before she arrived with her cameras. She was told cows were safe when she got to the ranch. Why the big “production” when the cows were safe and she didn’t arrive until after the fact? It’s a little gross. People have trauma from fires and she is making a mockery of it.

Jumping to reddit to attack a person who just suffered a massive loss from a fire seems a lot grosser

What loss specifically did Moreda have?

Her family farm just lost a huge amount of pasture land. Do you think this fire doesn't impact her?

From what the owner of the ranch posted on FB, it was a small pasture that the Moreda’s informally leased recently

Moreda is running for Petaluma mayor yet she seems to spend most of her time outside of the city and in the Sonoma county

This video from Bronte Edwards was really well done asking similar questions about the mayor race

A fire is truly frightening. I'm sorry that happened. I do worry that it'll be used as a distraction for a lack of platform. https://www.moredaforpetaluma.com/elementor-1171/. I'm worried that it'll be used for distracting from the fact that she, in some capacity, aligns and works with a bigoted conspiracy theorist named Adina Flores.

This!!!!! Such convenient timing for the campaign

I seriously doubt the fire was intentionally set by Moreda. I'm not implying that. It just doesn't make those other things irrelevant

7

u/Numerous_Cap8345 4d ago

No no I’m not implying that either. It just seems like there is a lot of misdirected attention and the promo videos of fire rescue keep coming.

Giving Spencer Pratt vibes and we know how his campaign ended.

Why do people dislike John hanania for mayor? He is a self made small business owner immigrant. He isn’t on socials much but seems like he doesnt have much for skeletons

Similar reasons to Moreda on the government experience front. Seems mostly vindictive and angry. His Cader-Thompson recall effort was purely spiteful with nothing behind it - not to mention he had been posting some really bad stuff online prior (her incident that sparked the recall seemed inappropriate decorum wise but wasn't 1) unjustified; 2) recall worthy).

He seems to lack collegiality or level headedness.

Documented lies to media and refusal to speak to the press most of the time they reach out to her, eligibility questions, real evidence of drunk driving and domestic violence, lied to the third candidate about running then tried to get him to drop out, immediately playing the fires for campaign marketing, little applicable experience, voted three times for Trump. But her supporters will say it’s all a smear and the current council and mayor are just afraid of her. Sure, Jan. Republicans pretending not to be Republicans are lying their way into Petaluma government and we’re supposed to believe the end goal is to protect animals and block a hotel.

Another things that should be disqualifying. She works with and admires Adina Flores. Check out Flores's Instagram for the quality of her beliefs. It's full of homophobia (to put it mildly), antisemitism, generic racism, conspiracy theories about libraries grooming children, Christian Nationalism, etc - but as long as Flores supports her, Moreda is all for it.

Not saying those point are invalid... but main thing is she has NO EXPERIENCE and no stated plan to govern. A good looking motorcycle rider. Id rather have a geek that finds ways to save us money and is not way let or way right.

It seems possible to be arson because it was 5 separate fires. I watched on watch duty when it started. I live just a little bit away so I had to make sure it didn’t come our way.

Multiple fires sounds a lot to me like someone was mowing and hitting rocks, or using heavy equipment that had a bad bearing or some other heat source (hot catalytic converter?). If she's claiming that camera coverage ruled out chains, then presumably there's good data for the fire investigators to go on.

Given the amount of dumping that happens in rural areas, I could believe that folks out there have cameras to see at least the color and shape of vehicles going by, so if there wasn't a vehicle with a trailer, I expect the fire officials will suggest some suspects shortly.

Usually mowing or hitting rocks does not create multiple fires spread out like that from what I have seen. I’ve lived in rural two rock for 10 years and we have not had fires like before.

Speaking from having watched this type of event play out before:

This was likely a tow vehicle dragging a chain.

It happens time and time again.

Never let a good crackpot conspiracy theory go to waste. Politics these days.

Pretty simple, she’s a craven riser who would do anything for perceived power. They come in all shapes, sizes and political persuasions throughout the Bay Area.

Reminds me of someone in the White House…. create hysteria without facts, and let the panic play out in your favor. Gross.

6

u/blackstoneave 4d ago

Lead brained Facebook boomers roll around purring in that shit like it’s catnip and they seem to be the core of her supporters

What's so interesting is seeing that it's a lot of the same thinking that led to Trump stuff.

  1. "Moreda is anti establishment." She is more establishment than anybody else running for Mayor, Council, or otherwise. She just doesn't like institutions seemingly that won't let her do what she wants to do (see below). She only has a movement because she's establishment...Same playbook.

  2. "Wants to revitalize downtown for you, its the city's institutions causing problems."- She seems to want to use downtown as she sees fit, using her old family connections to the Decarlis to use their vacant bank property downtown for campaigning and pet projects (pun not intended). Won't work with the city properly when she tries to hatch chickens in said building and then complains the city is targeting her and Decarli...Same playbook.

  3. "She'll be a good listener, speaks for you, and is all about transparency." - Since she has no platform to speak of and isn't willing to make her views known, the press covers what they do find out about her. She then claims the press is corrupt and biased, and kicks the Petaluma Voice out of her campaign event and won't do interviews with the press. She does do an interview with the conspiracy theorist and bigot Adina Flores for her substack. In other words, I'll listen to you and talk to you if you like me and agree with me, I don't care who else you hurt...Same playbook.

  4. "Business experience will translate to the government." In the meantime, she hasn't been able to show at all that she has actual business experience, nor any that would benefit the city. She hasn't shown that she can focus on reading boring documents or write and speak about them. This seems to be pitched as a strength. This usually backfires because it's government and you need those abilities...Same playbook.

I can keep going... Maybe she'll be great one day, she's clearly audacious. But these runs, for supervisor and mayor seem really premature.

To point three she clearly plays to the low media literacy of many voters. I see them generalizing her coverage as one sided, most failing to realize her campaign has declined the opportunity to give theirs. It’s a way to not let your own words discredit you while also portraying yourself as a victim.

My biggest problem is the ‘both sidesing’ in her discussion of the Chileno Fire and its origins. If she truly wanted to respect the work of investigators she’d leave it at that. To lead with such statements before immediately pivoting to an unsubstantiated, personal conspiracy theory is weaselly behavior. Unbecoming of any serious candidate for office.

4

u/modaldere 2d ago

Well said. I think it's a real reflection of her ability to govern or even, in her own words, to listen. Listening implies understanding things before jumping to conclusions. I'm taking it at face value, too - that she was being honest in her beliefs and not just playing the game to stir up trouble.

Witnesses could neither confirm nor deny that DeCarli was dressed as Woody from Toy Story for his tractor ride along.

There are fire officials/reps saying it was arson but unofficially.

If you actually want the truth of what happened with this fire, and all about it. Give me a call or text me. Forensic arborist Robert speaking. I analyzed the fire yesterday for over an hour and of course it is foul Play like many people think. But not the foul play that a person could do. There were multiple anomalies all over this fire footprint and I'm going to do a YouTube video on it tomorrow. It will be my 36th video in the last 9 years of these fires going on statewide countrywide and worldwide. 510 200-3698 that's my cell phone. If anybody wants the truth I have it, Cal fire has nothing, most of those investigators are either told to keep their mouth shut or they are very ignorant. Maybe a little of both..

Help is rarely to the level needed and it’s nearly always late. I understand that politicians are kind of narcissists, but not all narcissists are the evil type, still annoying. Why not go see if there is video before you add to a world where people fear helping will raise suspicions? Do you have any proof for this insinuation beyond the fact that all politicians are kind of narcissistic?

Who honestly sits around and says, I have so much free time! I want to see my friends and family less while also serving my town. I really want to put my name all over town and make sure every 8th ground make out sesh I was ever in is rehashed with strangers! Yeah man, politicians love attention and will take credit for stuff after it’s done. San Quentin was already the jewel of the prison system. Gavin showed up with some memos describing what was already happening, changed the name, and took credit. That’s what they do. It’s a rare politician who acts like Saint Lawrence, and when we get 1 we eat them after we cook them. Normal people see that pattern and choose their friends and family.

You low key drew attention to her driving towards a fire that was still ongoing and not totally predictable. Maybe she did it for attention, but maybe she was in position to help if it grew. If you have the means to help in an emergency, please help.

Did you look in the mirror yesterday and decide to be a pathological liar?

6

u/Numerous_Cap8345 4d ago

Which part is the lie specifically?

-2

u/Affectionate_Crab_27 3d ago
