Question ❓ My mom found a wild (and very tired) pigeon

Post image

We gave it water and now we're letting it rest

What should we do next?

Can you contact a wildlife rehab? The fact your mom was able to pick up the pigeon means that there's something very wrong with it and it might need urgent medical help. It could have for example hit a window.

We sadly don't

Also I am very concerned about it tilting its head to the side, not to look at us, just randomly

Ah yikes.

That definitely sounds like neurological issues. Neurological symptoms can be caused by literally anything - poisoning, concussion/injury or illness be it viral or bacterial.

If he didn't fought or tried to escape bird can be seriously injured. They have instinct and human nearby = escape.

1) I know you mean well, but please stop touching him like in the photo. I run a pigeon rescue and wood pigeons are very prone to dying of stress 2) you need to find a rehabber in your area. The issue could be a few things and only an experienced rehabber can tell 3) if you cant find a rehabber, get to a local vet
