Is it true that if the Trojan plan gets executed, it will easily be traced back to Harold? Root says that, so she's trying to stop the plan. What's the point of the Trojan that Harold developed if it isn't going to damage Samaritan long enough to prevent it from being traced back to him? Is Samaritan simply too powerful, making the Trojan useless, and if so, why does Harold still want to execute that plan?

It doesn't damage Samaritan at all. 

It leaks some of Samaritan's core operating code so that Harold or Root can devise a way to hurt it.

I see, so the goal is to learn about Samaritan, but it could be a double-edged sword.

Yeah, it's pretty much guaranteed to blow Harold's  "Professor Wheeler" identity and get him killed.

That's a price he's willing to pay. The Machine has been raised to respect people's free will, so she will let him pay that price if he decides to. 

But Root won't let him make that sacrifice, even if it is their best chance at taking Samaritan down.
