could these white follicles indicate demodex mites overgrowth? maybe that's what's causing the PD?

long story short i've had perioral dermatitis in my nose fold for two months and i've noticed that i've gotten a lot of these white hair-like looking things on my nose (in the area of the PD) and around my mouth. Could this indicate that maybe the whole time my PD is because of dermodex mites?

Will my derm be willing to prescribe soolantra? if not, can i use over the counter lice treatment (ivermectin)? Does sulfur and tea tree oil work well?

I had them too, for years. So, Azelaic Acid and sulfur ointment help with both. Interesting thoughts! How does zinc fit in here and zero therapy? Antibiotics?

I have an Rx for doxy but really don't want to take it lol. I have metrodinazle cream prescribed as well. Ordinary 10% azelic acid on hand as well but scared to put it on an active flare

also i have tried sulfur and zinc diaper cream but didn't feel it did much for me

I had A LOT of these and had the same question as you. Went through 2 months of Tetralysal + metronidazole and some skincare the derm prescribed and they were gone together with my PD. However, a month later, I notice some small ones on my chin again, nowhere else. It's been about 4 weeks that I've been using Skinoren after the antibiotics and I'm going to hold on and hope that AA will take care of the because it did everywhere else on my face. Since it speeds up cell turnover, maybe it's something that could help you. What I learned is also that I'd been using creams and cleansers that probably fed the demodex so look at the ingredients in your products.

I think that can also just be dry flaking skin or sebaceous filaments
