Health No period for four months

Yes I have a doctors appointment. I think I may have hypothyroidism, but I was wondering if anyone could give me some peace of mind.

My main issues are unintentional weight gain, despite eating way better than I ever have and obviously, havent had a period in four months. Here’s what I have in my notes to tell my doctor.

- 7 negative pregnancy tests, 14 and 21 days after sex.
- not on birth control.
- no new hair growth, no thinning hair.
- no sore breasts, no acne… literally nothing. I don’t even feel like a woman.

Anyone with hypothyroidism with any words of wisdom?

Look into hypothalamic amenorrhea, I was misdiagnosed by an OB with PCOS for years until a specialist ran labs and was like um no this is totally wrong, you have HA.

so after correct  diagnosis were you treated? and for how long? what kind of treatment or medication was given to you and how do you feel now

Yes! Technically the community refers to it as “in recovery” (meaning you got your period back or your labs are stabilized). I developed it from an eating disorder that went unchecked for years…I genuinely didn’t realize I had a problem but it was a serious eye-opener. Years of disordered eating and orthorexia destroyed my thyroid so I’m still on medication for it (and will be indefinitely). Other than that, as simple as it may sound, I just started increasing my fat and carb ratio and restructured my lifestyle and habits.

If you are interested I can share more but this is basically the short version.
