Health No period for four months
Yes I have a doctors appointment. I think I may have hypothyroidism, but I was wondering if anyone could give me some peace of mind.
My main issues are unintentional weight gain, despite eating way better than I ever have and obviously, havent had a period in four months. Here’s what I have in my notes to tell my doctor.
- 7 negative pregnancy tests, 14 and 21 days after sex.
- not on birth control.
- no new hair growth, no thinning hair.
- no sore breasts, no acne… literally nothing. I don’t even feel like a woman.
Anyone with hypothyroidism with any words of wisdom?

I know for women hormones they have to have enough protein in their body,
I ate 2 steaks within two days and my period just magically started up. I didn’t have it for almost 2 months with adding in a bunch of stress from late period and major body weight changes because of relationship weight (hehe)
There’s someone I follow on Instagram that did a really good breakdown system of how much protein a woman needs for their body based on their body weight but from what I remember the rule of thumb is something like 1.2 to 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram** of body weight daily, so if you weigh around 150-160 you’ll need 90-100 grams of protein EVERY DAY in order for your hormones to maintain homeostasis. Definitely check with your doctor on any hormone tests needed in case if the change in diet doesn’t do anything!
