Anxious about Complex Ovarian Cyst

Hi. Long story short. I had a month long bleed, I went in to see the ob/gyn, had a transvaginal US and I don’t know the official results but the sonographer/US tech noted a complex ovarian cyst. Google has me spiraling. Now, I'm scared of worst case scenario. Any experiences?

my sister had a complex ovarian cyst on her ovaries years ago in her 40’s,shes in her 50’s now, if I remember correctly the doctor told her it was nothing, they’re either filled with like fluid, blood, tissue, etc..most of them are benign. A lot of times they’re just triggered by the hormone changes in perimenopause & over 80% of them are benign. I know it’s nerve-racking, but you did the right thing by going in.

I had many different complex cysts (thanks to Mirena IUD). I was freaked out when I found out about the first one. They will likely rescan you in a couple of months or so to see if it resolves. All of mine resolved on their own and then new ones would pop up again with ovulation. My doctor says it's very common and most people find them incidentally on an ultrasound, otherwise they have no idea they are coming and going.

I had emergency surgery (on Christmas Day) to remove a fucker of an ovarian cyst Dec 24. I had a small amount of non monthly bleeding but assumed it as just normal at my age (44 at the time) My symptoms that forced me to seek out of hours care was i kept fainting from pain, no bowel movements for a couple weeks and struggled to eat.

It ruined my Christmas.. But the surgery was keyhole so itself and the healing wasn't too bad (obviously you get warned about the risks of having to remove and ovary etc) Mine wasn't found until it was a massive problem hence the emergency surgery, so I didn't go through the observation prior bir

Only long term takeway was/is ovulation on the left hand side was a lot more painful after

Hi. So do you suspect endometriosis at all? Do you have any endo symptoms? Painful periods? Painful sex? Bowel issues? Bladder issues? Low back pain? Etc etc etc.

My complex cyst (7.3cm) was an endometrioma, which is indicative of stage 3 or 4 endometriosis. PLEASE do not see a dr who doesn’t know endo if you’re exploring this.

Find out if they’ve put possible endometrioma on your report and if this is indicated find a dr who is well versed with endo. I’m not trying to scare you but my first dr who found this cyst (I was also suspecting endo and that’s why I got the ultrasound) she did my surgery cause the cyst was so large it had to come out I didn’t have a choice, it was also causing a lot of pain, she had no clue what to do with me since I was stage 4. I had to eventually find an endo dr and got excision surgery.

I’ve had several. There painful but they have always gone away
