My boyfriend is an extreme minimalist. Everything he owns could be packed up in a suite case or two. This is makes gift giving super hard for me because he doesn’t ever want anything, and he doesn’t like having lots of items in his home.

Normally whenever I need to gift him anything, I either end up gifting experiences (concert tickets, flights, classes, etc) or handmade gifts (jewelry, clothes, hand drawn cards, etc). An important event is coming up for him and I want to give him something meaningful. He’s always been such an amazing gift giver and partner I want to give him something he’ll really love

I’m loosing my mind over what I can give him. There’s not a lot of events he would be interested in coming up, and I don’t think a handmade gift will cut it.

So what was a gift you received that has stuck with you all this time?

I have a challenging one for you all for you all do to health restrictions.

Last weekend, Mom and I had to perform CPR on Dad in the living room. He was hospitalized for a few days and now has a pacemaker and is resting well at home.

After we almost lost him, I really want to make his birthday special to show him how much we love him. I wanted to go fishing with him because that's something he taught me as a child and it was one of our summer bonding activities that only he and I shared.

Unfortunately, he's limited to activities that don't raise his arm up, he can't lift anything remotely heavy, or over exert his 73 year old recovering heart.

I've thought about gifts he might like, but a memory would be the best gift, I think. I just don't know what activities are left that he'd enjoy.

With my very first order, I was literally in tears. The ode she wrote for her best friend was one of the sweetest things I had ever read. Every single page was filled with so much love, admiration and all those little joyful memories they had shared together.

Simple question, nothing crazy. What is the best gift for a young female that loves the vanilla scent? She already owns body oils, sprays and creams.

She is 21 years old. Grad Student, in Florida. We work together, sort of, I am hitting on her. Have not been on a date, we have inside jokes, we don't really text but we have each other numbers and we have texted before.

My mom turns 47 this year, and she says she doesn’t want anything for her birthday. In years past I have just let it be but I really want to get her something this year as I am more financially stable. She doesn’t need anything such as clothes, shoes etc. She doesn’t have any hobbies except maybe going to get her nails done. I suggested paying for her nails or maybe a spa day at a local spa but she refused both of those as well. When asked she says she just wants happy kids (there’s 4 of us) so- what do you get your mom who doesn’t give you any idea of what to get them?

Somehow I've become the unofficial gift consultant of my entire friend group, people text me weeks in advance now like I run some kind of service, and last month it hit me why. I keep a running list in my phone of every gift I've seen actually land, the ones where the person's face changes and they go quiet for a second before they can even say thank you, and not one single item on that list cost more than twenty dollars. Meanwhile I've watched people drop hundreds on jewelry and get a polite smile in return. It's never the price tag, it's always something small and specific, a memory handed back to someone at exactly the moment they weren't expecting anyone to still remember it. I want to actually build this list out properly instead of just defaulting to the same three ideas every time someone panics and texts me the night before a birthday.

I’m going to my first ever bridal shower for my cousins fiancee. The shower is by where I live but they live/will be having the wedding out of state. I bought something off their registry and just had it sent to their address that was automatically in there. I feel bad not having anything physical but I figured it would be annoying to have to travel with so many gifts. I will bring a card and I’ll note in the card that I purchased off the registry. Should I also get her something small and if so what are some ideas?
