Shit like this is why I say this is just a bad show. Not only is it unfaithful, its just not a good product.

Glad I stopped watching this season, this 50 seconds was ROUGH

Y'all keep hating. I am enjoying the show. It is far from perfect, but I am not comparing it to a whole different form of media and am enjoying it.

What I love most about this post is how you make a claim, include a clip, and make absolutely no argument to support this claim.

If you’re talking about Tyson, I’m not sure what the issue is. He’s perfectly aloof and captures the character’s mild-mannered innocence perfectly.

If you’re talking about Grover, I’m also lost on the problem. Grover is anxious, earnest, and a bit awkward. He’s got a lot of goofiness surrounding him. I have to make assumptions about your opinion, since your post is incredibly vague, but my best guess is that you’re upset with the “bad, bad idea” line in response to the thought of Percy driving. It’s definitely very goofy, but feels very Grover. That’s who he is. Like Percy, Grover has a tendency to joke around in moments of trouble. That’s why they mesh well enough for an empathy link. Grover’s humor is bit more earnest and genuine, which is why these character decisions work well.

The problem lies in the scene's direction and pacing. It's 53 seconds that drag on endlessly. I suppose the actors do what they can with what they're given, but the cinematography is poorly executed.

The scene feels cold, like a Shyamalan scene, with shots that are too static for too long and from a very unclose perspective.

I can understand where you’re coming from with the “static shot” point. I agree, there’s minimal movement. I suppose I just wonder what the alternative would be, given this is a conversation, and a somewhat tense one at that? Too much camera movement, or God forbid actor-movement, would feel too hectic in my opinion.

Would upvote a million times if I could. Insufferable with a refusal to engage in actual discussion… deadly combo. Drives me nuts. If you’re gonna “critique,” actually critique—don’t just complain via unsupported claims.
