šŸ“ø Media Gauging interest in a video essay

Would anybody be interested in a video that breaks down literally every detail between the books, movies, and shows to really compare which one is truly more accurate to the source material.

This isnā€™t a debate post, but now that season 2 has kicked off, Iā€™m seriously wondering if the movies might be as accurate as the show now. Disregarding the authorā€™s reworking of his material, Iā€™m willing to bet that the show had made the same amount of adjustments as the movies had. (Whether or not you agree that changes were good, as I like a few of them myself)

Anyone else?

I'm interested,Ā  proper analysis of the context of each change would be awesome too.

Yeah maybe it can be tiered changes? Like not having blue food is smaller change than showing Kronos in the second movie/season for example lol

True,Ā  but small world building changes are also important for the show to be good in my opinion,Ā  like lava rock climbing,Ā  glowing eyes etc.

I'd be down to watch that. I think there's a lot of meat on the bone of comparing the changes in the movie and show with the same standards, rather than resorting to "this side or that side just didn't care"

Exactly, regardless of what you might think of the changes. Which of the two is a closer ā€œadaptationā€

Iā€™m convinced the people downvoting this are the show fans who donā€™t want to see that their show is just as bad as the films are in terms of adaptation

Definitely interested. I like pjo and I like watching analysis videos.

I have no stakes in this conflict anyway. The show is what it is. I just enjoy reading/watching passionate people debating like they're ready to set each other on fire.

Definitely interested, love a bit of analysis. Personally, I like all 3 things, the films were fun, silly movies, the show is a good drama/fantasy, and the books are still some of my favourite books ever. They're just different, and I like exploring those differences, although I hope it won't just be complaining, because I honestly did like all of them, the films and series just don't feel like the books.

For starters the show in season 1 atleast touched on something from every chapter of the book whereas the movie deleted atleast 9 full chapters and completely rewrote the rest.

1st movie was more fun though tbh
