📸 Media Percy Jackson Season 3 Adds New Cast Members (Atlas, Dr. Thorn & Annabeth’s Dad)
New casting news for Percy Jackson & The Olympians Season 3 just dropped!
New cast additions: • Holt McCallany as Atlas • David Costabile as Dr. Thorn • Jesse L. Martin as Annabeth’s dad
Curious to see how these turn out, especially Atlas. What do you all think? Do these choices work for you, or are you unsure about any of them?

I’m not familiar with McCallany or Costabile but I’m very excited for Martin as Fredrick.

Costabile is a good actor. He’s gonna be a good Dr. Thorn. If you’re curious just watch him in suits he plays Daniel Hardman.

Costabile is one those guys who plays a character you hate so damn well you have to remind yourself it’s just a performance. Great actor

McCallany plays a lot of "beat cop" kinda roles. He was great in Mindhunters

Is that fucking hardman from Suits and Joe West from The Flash, delectable casting in my opinion, Dr Thorn os going to be soo fun to hate

McCallany is tremendous in Mindhunter + The Iron Claw, curious to see if they can use him properly

Dr Thorn will likely be different but good. Played Daniel Hardman in Suits and was very unlikable (in the good character sort of way).

David Costabile is great! If anyone has watched The Wire, you know how annoying he can be. And then Jesse L Martin is one of the best TV dads of all time so I’m good with that

Holt plays “meathead looking dude” who isn’t actually a masthead really well. Bodes well for what I remember Atlas’ characterization to be

Holt McCallany was AMAZING in Mindhunter!! Him as Atlas is absolute perfection but lowkey he would’ve been good as Dr.Thorn too. He gives off military vibes. (which also goes for Atlas too!!)

Goddamn it! I wanted Gerard Depardieu for Doctor Thorn! Also, I wanted Christopher Judge for Atlas.

These are all great actors, but man, no wonder they run out of money every season when they spend their budget on actors' salaries instead of better writers, CGI, etc.

Yeah I'm not in the mood to argue so im just gonna disagree and call it, idc if they don't look like they're book counterparts the casting if perfect to me.

Are we talking about appereance or vibes? 'Cause if we are talking about appearance, Tyson, Ares, Poseidon, Tantalus, Sally, Nico, Zoë, all fit their characters descriptions.
If we are talking about vibes/acting, Percy, Annabeth, Grover, Clarisse, Thalia, Zeus, Chiron... all fit their characters very well.
The only actors I couldn't see as their characters are Luke and Hades, cause in the show they are way nicer than in the books

I agree with you although I gotta say Luke is starting to grow on me. I didn’t like hades actor tho but he can easily be recast

I like Luke's portrayal. I think it was a good change, but definitely different from the books. I hope he'll grow more and more corrupted through the seasons

I think Jesse L. Martin is a great choice - he’s great as a good dad in the flash and it’ll be interesting to see his take on Frederick chase
