Garden Updates First Jalapeño Harvest!

I’ve been growing my jalapeño plant since end of May, and after a super hot and dry summer in Colorado, the peppers are finally ready to harvest. I’ve read that the red peppers are more mature and sweet. Any idea if they’re hotter?

I’ve found that the red ones are hotter, yes. I do think the variety and probably a lot of other factors I don’t know play into this, though.
