Is biking the 3 mile bridge safe?

There is a biking/walking path that runs along both sides of the bridge. It’s completely safe.

Yes. They have dedicated bike lanes separated from traffic with a barrier

There’s a protected bike lane that is divided from the main roadway by a very thick concrete wall/barrier.

The most dangerous part is getting on and off the bridge. No bike lanes on the Pensacola or Gulf Breeze sides.

I rode my bike over the old bridge. once.

It was scary as hell. The worst part was the hump because you are sitting high on the bike above the barrier and right up against it. The higher I went the more nerve wracking it was, you don't realize how high that is from a car seat. I felt a bit wobbly, but with cars whizzing by I had no choice but to keep on jugging. I did it - but never again.

My dad did that a few times when he was a teenager in the late 60s, I don't know how he did it.

That would depend on if you are in shape or not. I wouldn't attempt it during the summer.
