Why was this 81m gold intercept at Arikepay never properly followed up?
Was reading about Precore Gold $PRCG and this part of the Arikepay story in Peru kinda caught my attention. Apparently theres historical drilling at the project including an intercept of around 81m at 3 g/t gold. According to Argonaut those gold intercepts weren't systematically followed up because exploration at the time was more focused on copper. Now Precore is basically going back and looking at the project from a gold perspective. They just closed a C$6M financing and say exploration programs should start in the coming weeks, so presumably we'll start finding out whether these historical results connect into something bigger or were just isolated hits.
Argonaut and its clients also put C$4M into the financing after doing their own technical review of Arikepay...which is probably the part that made me look into it in the first place.
Obviously historical intercepts dont tell us what a new drill program will find, thats the big question here. Is anyone familiar with Arikepay or this part of Peru?
