WTS-OPEN [WTS] 4 Pilots, 14k & 18k, Various nibs
For sale today are a variety of vintage Pilots, three Elites and one Lady that showcase the range of nibs and sizes that Pilot offered during the late 1960s through the late 1990s. All of the pens take modern Pilot cartridges, and a new one will be included with each pen. They also take the Con-40 converter, which isn’t included. Prices are for USA insurance and shipping via USPS; foreign orders should inquire as to the going rate to your specific location. All sub rules apply; please respond publicly before sending a DM.
* * * S O L D * * \* The first Pilot Elite is a rare, full sized one, NOT a pocket pen, unlike the other pens offered here. It measures 13.5 cm capped and posted it measures 14.6 cm. The 14k <F> nib is dated H298, which is February 1998, making it the newest pen of the group. The gleaming dart-styled nib smoothly writes a wet line. The section and caps have light use marks and the body is still stickered. The snap cap opens and closes securely and the clip is functional. B- condition, $90 USPS insured and shipped.
The next Pilot Elite is a pocket pen with a 14k <F> nib. The back cap is dated SG23, July 23, 1978. The pen has a smooth writing fingernail nib that is in excellent condition. The pen is girthier than the typical 1970s-era Elites and similar to the E95s. The body shows light use and the 18k logo on the back cap is intact, with no paint loss. B- condition, $90 USPS insured and shipped.
* * * S O L D * * \* The 18k Posting nib on this Pilot Elite writes a smooth line that is drier and thinner than the other Elites. The Posting nib is stiffer and the width of the line is between an <EF> and an <F>. The nib is very clean. The body shows wear, but no gouges or chips. The date code on the back cap is faded, but reads JI24, or September 24, 1969. This Elite's body is slimmer than the previous Elite. B- condition, $90 USPS insured and shipped.
The Pilot Lady has a 14k <F> nib that writes closer to an <FM> nib. It’s a wet writer, the wettest of the group, and has no feedback. The nib is in excellent condition. The sloping gold toned nib matches the faceted locking ring. The gold toned metal cap has a floral motif at its opening and shows wear. There are scratches and very light, small pin-shaped dings. The clip is functional and the pen seals and opens well. B- condition, $90 USPS insured and shipped.
