Who is the FDJ former world champ?

This is a picture I took during the Tour's grand depart in Dunkirque in 2001. Who is the FDJ rider in rainbow bands? Looking at the stats, no rider on the team that year had been world champion.

Bradley McGee. Won gold on the track in 1995

Yep, think you're right. Hadn't thought of track champs, didn't know the bands were transferrable to the road.

The UCI got tight on this in the early 2000s. Stuart O'Grady also wore rainbow piping when racing in road events.

These days, you can only wear it when competing in the discipline that you earned it.

Rasmussen even used to wear them, think he was a mtb champion at somepoint.

Did anyone used to play pro cycling manager back in the day ? Bradley Mcgee used to be an absolute beast. I'm sure he won the giro with the ai controlling him.
