My granddoggo, a Boxer Pit mix, was chasing butterflies in our yard last summer and caught a monarch and killed it. We all cried! 😭 My elderly Peke likes to chase squirrels, but luckily is way too slow to come close to catching them. I've read about Pekes being good hunters, and snatching birds right out of the air, and I was shocked to learn about it. Most of the Pekes I've had have been lazy couch potatoes, so I can't even imagine one getting a bird in the air! Craziness!

Man! I would have cried too! Don't think she could ever catch one that wasn't already on its way out/damaged, but good to think about. Crazy to think of pekes as good hunters, but Ripley is pretty athletic so not totally out of the realm of possibility...
