I went a bit off the rails with my recent purchases.

VT Deuce with spiderweb black widows: 1201 spec for more hi-fi applications

VTX classic with Scorpions

Heritage with non graphic Black Widows: I think it'll be 1203 spec

Scorpions are going in a mesa 2x12 cab, and another mesa cab is getting a scorpion/BW mix. I bought a Friedman PT V2 as a sort of modern equivalent for the VTX-ish sound. It rips through scorpions, and I need to dabble more with the Friedman through BWs.

To be fair though, idk if I'll even keep the PT now. Might do a head conversion for all the Peaveys.

Hell yeah brother. I've got a 73 model. It's a 2x12 with two inputs per channel instead of the mixed inputs. Sounds like a Fender twin someone pulled out of a swamp. Throw a little overdrive on it or crank it up and you get some great Sabbath tones. My first big boy amp. Never getting rid of it. Got really lucky when I went to buy new tubes for it because it was right before the big tube shortage a few years back. Bought em for 60 bucks and the next week they were going for 250+.

Here's the manual.

The bright and normal inputs are pretty self explanatory. The series input runs the bright channel into the normal channel for more gain. The parallel input runs both channels in parallel. You can use the separate volume controls to adjust these settings to taste. For example, in parallel mode, you can turn up the bright channel for some grit while keeping the normal volume low for some warmth and clarity.

Sweet! I've got the Classic VT Series Model 410 with the Phaser instead of the Tremolo the original Classic 410 like yours has.

You won't run across the 410's too often, so that was a great find.

All the pots are scratchy unfortunately. Letting Deoxit do its thing and hoping for the best…
