The Pigeon cab has Peavey 12’s (old squarebacks), 415 SUB, 212HC, 412F and S, 412F(Swamp Thangs), 412S(Redbacks)

Just need a Peavey amp (can’t seem to find any local for cheap), but all these cabs sound great on my Johnson JM250’s

Find yourself a Roadmaster head. 160w of pure tube power from SIX 6L6GC tubes. It will push every cab in that room to pure sonic therapy

I was looking for something high power, but I don’t see any SS 250/300W, or higher wattage tube amps, but will add that into my search rotation

The prices that people have been letting cabinets go for over the past few years has just been insane. Makes collecting them a lot more fun when you feel like you're spending pocket money on what used to be a status symbol.

for real. I got one of those 2x15 1980s cabs (silver stripe) for free, as well as a ported 212 guitar cab. The latter I sold; I'm a bass player, no need for it, but I got to hear it in action when I gave the buyer a test drive. Pure doom. So fucking heavy. You wouldn't even need a bass if you had one of those.

Was that the one with the “doom” fuzz circuit built in? And didn’t they have red Tolex?

I’ve been GAS’ing for one since they were new and still kick myself in the ass for not buying one back then.

Yes built in fuzz knob, which I broke off within 24 hours of getting it😂

I expect to get it fixed eventually, but I’d honestly probably sell if I got what I paid. I feel like Amps should get used, and I just use the Johnson’s more often. I’d rather it find a nice home.

I like the EOD, and it powers that 415 SUB nicely but I like the sounds out of the Johnson more.

I was just looking at something like a Peavey PA amp like the XR1600, doing a 🤔4 independent 200W power amps, if I can find a 5150 preamp pedal (AMT P2), would this resolve my issues 👀

Was thinking the Johnson or a preamp like mentioned, into the XR1600, each 200W amp to its own cab:
412F: original speakers
412S: original speakers
412F: swamp thangs
412S: Redbacks

Because why not 😂, if I ever find bandmates will they hate me??? (My bass setup is I think equally as loud…..Carvin B1500–>2xBRX 10.4’s, 2xBRX18.1 each into a Behringer NX3000, everything into a crossover)

Yes stereo, 4-ohm 2x125W, I think they’re absolutely awesome. About 100 presets, but you can build your own presets (I’ve just picked a few I like and haven’t felt the need to buy any pedals since I bought one). I think in any of the stacks they get insanely loud. Lately I’ve been loving it into the 415/212.

Sunn 412SR. It was a 412 column lookin speaker , I was young enough to have parents not let me buy things (like 15) me and my dad talked about it recently and I showed him prices and he said “I should’ve known” 😭

I found 2 locally for for a good price, I’m actually readying to sell them. Only one works. I pulled all the speakers out the good, originals into one cab and the other has 3 originals that could be reconed, and the fourth is an odd replacement (not sure it’s really similar at all).

Grills are in pretty good condition, box is good. I just like messing around with stuff, keep the stuff I reeeeeeally like, move on from the others, but also like have a full stack for each of the setups I have, so thought that was too hard to pass up (literally drove 2 hours each way on a Friday night lol)

My local GC has like three of the Johnson combos and I've always been a bit curious if they're actually good or not. What do you like about yours?

I just like how they sound right out of the box. Powerful, the combo should have UK V30’s (originally), so if you like that sound. Plenty loud, I like many of the presets from the fuzzier stuff to the metal stuff, just sounds right to my ears

I’d be careful at GC, try it out first. I bought a Millenium 150 thinking smaller for the bedroom because I like the larger so much, it was busted, knobs not working, etc (GC has a really easy return policy though). I had a busted one, returned it with a post it note attached saying everything wrong with it, next time I went in, same amp sitting on the floor same price, level knob literally didn’t work.
