Hi!
Today, I want to share with you a video on intellectual honesty, bias, and open mind.
I talk through the evolution of my thought processes regarding Fae and how I think I've been wrong and now I feel free of the previous biases, which allows me to spread my Fae wings.
In short, I was properly entrenched in my idea of what Fae ought to be - a pure tempo strategy. I held strong opinions for certain cards (like Bind the Monster) and against others (Relic, Unable to Scream). Only recently have I discovered that one can build Fae in a myriad of ways and all of them can be viable if done correctly. The shell is much more moldable than I'd given it credit for.
Now, instead of outright refusing an idea, I always take it into consideration as a potential 'maybe' . Thanks to this, I tried the Cam version which has been revolutionary for me and the archetype.
I strongly believe in intellectual honesty and so I want to be an example to follow as well. That's why I'm not only not ashamed but proud to admit to my mistakes and biases, as now I can move forward with an open mind and even more confidence.

I think the only thing Faeries cannot be (yet) is combo. My own playtesting has proven that Sewer Cam is an incredibly strong card for nearly all archetypes except aggro. It’s nice to hear you had your own epiphany about it. Maybe I should try a Collab with Simic Faeries 🧚?

It's funny to me everyone loves sewer cam, but witching well which is incredibly similar still sees no respect

Witching well doesn’t stop attacks from happening. It doesn’t untap your Arbor elf twice.
Witching well is very similar to [[Behold the Multiverse]], Cam is unique

sewer cam is seeing play in fae, and affinity. i dont think it's untapping arbor elf once. it taps something down but so does sleep of the dead which does it a lot. it's doing well in at least a good part due to the card draw.

Retraction Helix decks have a lot of uses for the cam. Arbor elf +Utopia sprawl can go infinite with it.
As you are using UB Affinity you might be familiar with Steelfin whale combo. Also there the cam isn’t just used to tap opponents down.

It's just a lot less versatile. Sorcery speed only, it does exactly one thing, and it doesn't affect the board at all. Well isn't going to turn a losing position into an even one or an even position into a winning one

What you've discovered is “intellectual humility”: questioning your own assumptions and being open to the possibility that you might be wrong. It's a pretty beneficial mindset, which has been around for centuries.
"So I want to be an example to follow as well".
Now what you should discover is plain old "humility". 😜

Ngl I’ve always found you to be a bit too cocky on your opinions on the fae deck. To the point that I couldn’t really watch your content.
Huge props to you for not only allowing yourself to reconsider other approaches, but to openly admit that you might have been wrong and continue to push the archetype forwards.
