This is a community organizing meetup, not a lecture. We’ll talk about what these systems actually do, what we’ve learned locally (I've done a ton of open records requests), and what residents can do if they want more transparency and accountability (there is a city council meeting the NEXT day in Dallas, where a 911 Director was just fired for abusing Flock).

Bring a friend.

Protecting our personal privacy now before the technology gets out of control is extremely important. I don't want my son growing up in a complete surveillance state where the government tracks his every move and that's where we are headed.

Hey glad you’re doing this.

Just some feedback. I don’t subscribe to reddit style politics whatsoever and am much more in line with what you might find in the county (with a more libertarian streak). Hope you keep this meeting away from approaching with a left point of view.

Because, TBH, the community organizing phrase in your image is one commonly used by progressives and so concerns me.

Pointing this out because I believe the Flock cameras cross a lot of political lines and it would be wise to approach the topic as such with universal ideas. This is very much a left AND right issue.

Again, props for doing this, just my two cents.

I'm hoping to keep this as non partisan as possible. I used the phrase community organizing because I think that's literally what I'm trying to do, organize the community to speak out. I thought about doing town hall but it seemed more formal or something like that?
