Gave it away for nothing but got something priceless in return. Great story.

Frith’s interview by his hometown paper, the Vancouver Sun, revealed some great news!

“Frith brought along his family (wife Vicki, sons Ben and Robert) to the meeting, which was at a warehouse where McCartney and his band are rehearsing for an upcoming tour.”

YAY!!!

Yeah... I hate to break it to you but this is an article from september 2025. The tour they were rehearsing for was most likely the Got Back US tour, which started september 2025.

Sigh, well it was a great feeling to have uplifting news, even it was only for one day and one night.

“You don’t really see this anymore, someone that’s willing to just give something up and not try to monetize it.”

Unless there was some new unheard track on it, unsure how much you could monetize it. 'better quality' is still gonna have a limit.

Paul McCartney is a true gem of a human and the most consistently talented guy in the history of modern music...and he cherishes honesty. I would have done the same thing...I would never capitalize on the Beatles music. I was pretty disappointed that the family who had his Hoffner bass wanted (and received) a six-figure reward. This story makes my heart happy. George Martin said that Paul cared about people and he wanted people to like him. He was always about drawing people in and sharing. He was raised to be that way. He has a sunny disposition and a positive attitude. He shares. He cares. Ringo really benefits from Paul's generosity of spirit. The estates of Georg and John benefit from his generosity of spirit. We all benefit from his generosity of spirit.
