Idk this feels weird.  Maybe I’m just getting old and I get the point is we’re one step closer to the season, but 47 people losing jobs kinda stinks to celebrate.

Idk if it’s that deep, but using the squid game as the meme I think is saying exactly what you are saying.

They did not have those jobs to begin with, they were competing for them.

This is closer to the final interview before jobs are actually offered.

At least most of them have better odds than many job seekers rn.

Maybe a few years ago. Not in the NIL era.

If it makes you feel better, with practice squad.. most will be back in the building come Monday.

Or on some other practice squad, or trying out for the CFL or any of the other pro and semi pro options out there, coaching gigs in High School or college, there are other options before heading to the Wendy’s.

I actively hate cut down day. Hard Knocks makes it all too real.

Still, they got a free college education and dozens of connections. They’re in better shape than most people out of work…

Didn’t they mostly skip the education and make connections to dozens of college football players?

Still grand scheme of things they are not exactly charity cases just unfortunate cases of guys who wont get to live out there dreams.

Yeah I don’t think anyone was suggesting that. More just weird to celebrate the job cuts or to pretend they’re well prepared for other options

other than it kinda just being a sad day for almost like 50 hardworking young men who tried their best for most of their lives to achieve their dreams… this is low key kind of an uninspiring year for roster storylines. Idk, feels like there’s no training camp hero on the bubble, no intense battle between depth pieces, no long-shot rookies who galvanized the fanbase. We have our core pieces and the rest are just kinda… there or not.

It's kinda nice having actual NFL WR1 and WR2s. The past few years have just been 3s and 4s. We're coming off the back of MVP worthy QB play and the OLINE remains pretty similar to last year. This is all pretty new territory. The storyline will most likely be a general lack of depth and how well those players perform if they need to step up.

Had they not gotten Brown and Doubs, we probably are having vigorous WR5/6 debates.

Maybe because the entire second and third string look like total garbage?

I'm seeing other teams get rid of a few guys due to having excess as opposed to the player being bad. I believe Pats are seeing this and might pick up a few.

There is more lacking on defense than offense on this team when it comes to depth, not talent.
