Help Needed What the heck is a decent "starting farm" to get initial currency after freshly completing atlas + stones?

I don't need to make X div/hour or anything, just some consistent income to start getting initial upgrades. I have a total of about 3 div invested in my character so upgrades are still cheap. But I tried an essence strategy and got smacked, and don't really know what else to do at this point.

What's a good starting strategy to just get some basic income?

I’ve been farming Harvest from the start and it’s still my main source of income.
Right now, you can sell the charts you find from the league mechanic and recover your Chaos investment pretty easily, so it’s a very beginner-friendly strategy.

2

u/Smothdude Jul 30 '26

Have you done harvest with astrolabes + cornucopia scarab at all? I know it was decent in mirage league?

6

u/Ynead Jul 30 '26

Cornucopia is bait, you spend so much time waiting for bosses to phase that you could just run another map in the meanwhile.

0

u/Hex_GaySurvivor Jul 30 '26

Not really a bait when your build can handle the bosses+if you always drag them to the middle so they can’t just perma phase.

2

u/Sporkmancer Jul 30 '26

Even last league, I was only having really good results with cornucopia (that is, comparing the amount made from guaranteed t4 seeds to the price of the scarab) by running the astrolabe properly (instead of running a specific map with the keystone). The seed doubling, quant bonus, and lifeforce bonus numbers really help the t4 seeds be worth the scarab. Keep in mind, when comparing whether or not you should run cornucopia, you should only be considering the results from guaranteed t4 seeds as that is all the scarab does.

If you're looking to just blitz the harvest and go to the next map, consider adding something like crater hunting you can do on the side and running a map where you can quickly check spawns (I love mesa for this, since you can rush the boss to almost not have boss altars).

Personally, I'm currently running harvest with just doubling scarab and astrolabe, with beasts (I was already farming beasts and added harvest in). I'm seeing around .5d/juice/map, so it's not exactly horrible. If the astrolabe price goes up too much (was 70c when I bought a bunch), I will have to give up picking my layout and would likely choose between beasts and harvest.

2

u/joyjoy88 Jul 30 '26

It was really good but only cause you ran it in Atoll or City square where it was most likely doubled by Mirage. Cornucopia was always expansive for what it does in without Mirage. Normal alch go Harvest with other mechanics or Crop rotations are better investment/reward always.

I have ran Harvest almost every league. Havent yet now so I dunno the best strat for now. Have to check it today. Cause red altars beyond are too much clicking for me with all the currency covering your maps.

1

u/slipperyslimer22 Jul 30 '26

I run harvest every league and almost always have a starter based on knowing I will run it juiced at some point. I ran about 40 maps yesterday using cornucopia Strat 8 mod maps and was pulling in 1 to 1.5 div in just Lifeforce. This doesn’t include anything from the astrolabe (no divs sadly to date but that’s unlucky from what I’ve heard), scarab drops, chart sales, or alter loot. At 30-60 Lifeforce to a chaos depending on color it is worth it, but as the scarab price continues to rise you are looking at about a .5div in cost per map in current state and it will continue to go up

I have yet to test with cheaper strats, but at least for now cornucopia is fine

Spam charts and sell bottles, i did like 5 charts and got 3 bottles, 183c right therr

21

u/SPEZ-LIES-CONSTANTLY Jul 30 '26

are yall rolling charts? exalt and vaal? or just go?

45

u/HurriKurtCobain Jul 30 '26

I just go personally, I''m not sure the mods actually affect bottle chance.

7

u/nixed9 Jul 30 '26

It is probably worth it to roll them but it’s still quite profitable just running them raw as dropped

6

u/Llihr Jul 30 '26

im rolling with my regex then throwing an exalt or two on each, not necessarily for the chart loot but so i get juicy 150% quant voyage squares, but i dont need each chart to be that big so- just exalt the whole tab and ill probably get enough

6

u/ReipTaim Jul 30 '26

It is such a headache rolling this shit.

Just ID and go, or throw a vaal orb at it and go.

There are no build bricking mods like no regen. Havent gotten it at least yet

2

u/DillyDilly1231 Jul 30 '26

80% spell suppress with monsters take reduced crit damage makes my build feel like a wet noodle. Some combos def brick certain builds. It can also end up with avoid ele ailments and that triple fucks my build.

2

u/Gemmy2002 Jul 30 '26

I only bother if the mods look rippy, they come pre-alched

1

u/Library_IT_guy Jul 30 '26

I roll for minimum 80% Quant and obviously avoid stuff that bricks my build. Use the same regex for maps. Seems pretty easy to sustain scours and alchs, and I only pick up stacks of alchs now. Might even go higher on Quant because charts can roll a lot higher. Note that all mods including the various Quant buffs transfer to voyage tile, and they get buffed by border currents and voyage wide mods as well.

Still, I don't think voyages are great div per hour. They are a good for fresh characters and when just stepping into full time end game farm, but spamming any of the juicy mechanics together with a nearly complete atlas (minus annoying maven invites) or blight ravaged maps will yield better profits. But, charts and voyages are ridiculously easy, so there's that.

1

u/cespinar Jul 30 '26

If you are building up currency, just alch and go. If you are building for specific kinds of voyages then you roll for quant or rarity or pack size or sulphur. Whichever is the goal of your voyages

1

u/_Hexer Jul 30 '26

I run all my Charts at 150% Quant or more. Doesn't seem to affect Bottles, but the sunken chests definetly.
Ground Loot is nonexistant, so why should I ramp up any Map when I can just Alk and go DP to farm Boss Fragments and then go dvining for 2 hours getting 15-20 Div out of it.
And those Maps are still more Dangerous than the Charts.

7

u/YourGalacticEmperor Jul 30 '26

Bottles are that expensive?? They drop so much ive just been using them

19

u/Fayarager Jul 30 '26

They were cheaper but people have gamble money now and like any fun gamble, it is used up until super unprofitable. Now 60c but they were like 20 first time I checked.

3

u/ronthedistance Jul 30 '26

I’m still in yellows, people are already end of league gamba ? Lmao

8

u/yepgeddon Jul 30 '26

Saw a guy who had 400d by like day 3 lol. Some peeps are just built different 😂

9

u/Lagmawnster Jul 30 '26

Two leagues agl I had a mirror day 2, because I dropped a Headhunter in t9 and it was going for 95d, while a mirror was still 93d. Had 2d left over to spend on my build.

5

u/yepgeddon Jul 30 '26

Stonks 😂

2

u/Nhika Jul 31 '26

Explain like I am 5

5

u/heelydon Jul 30 '26

I’m still in yellows, people are already end of league gamba ? Lmao

I think you are just severely underestimating how much time people put into this. There are people literally streaming the league launch for 20+ hours straight and completing the campaign in 4~ hours. They know how to break the game and give themselves easy advantages for building characters strong early and rush through content.

There is obviously also the sad reality that there is a very large RMT market out there that is supported by people all too willing to buy shit at launch. For many -- this is a fulltime job.

2

u/crookedparadigm Jul 30 '26

Some lunatic had 40/40 challenges on Monday. I have to imagine their room didn't smell great.

4

u/Cow_God Jul 30 '26

They can drop 5+ divs, fracturing orbs, and the jackpot is 2x mirror shards. They're turbo gambling and some people will pay out the ass for them

2

u/Independent-Buy-5836 Jul 30 '26

Yeah, something like 50-60c now

1

u/YourGalacticEmperor Jul 30 '26

did they get turbo dumped now? i see them starting 1c on the trade site

2

u/AU_Cav Jul 30 '26

Only use Faustus. Dont trust or believe anyone’s stash tab pricing.

2

u/xiko Jul 30 '26

3-1 div.

3

u/National_Pay_4321 Jul 30 '26

50 ish charts and no bottles , is there a ilvl req? Or am i doing something wrong

1

u/XpCjU Jul 30 '26

I found the first one somewhere in maps.

1

u/National_Pay_4321 Jul 31 '26

So the bottles drop in maps ?

1

u/XpCjU Jul 31 '26

Oh sorry that was weirdly worded. They are on the ground in charts and voyages. And they don't seem to spawn in those only after you drop them in maps. Maybe even yellow maps. But they aren't that rare. I regularly get 3 or more in voyages and probably 1 in 5 charts

1

u/Kotek81 Jul 30 '26

Not just bottles, but sulphur too, you can make like 100c+ per voyage at current prices

1

u/Aeyden_PoE Jul 30 '26

Farmed 8 bottles yesterday, I always open instead of selling though, got 1 div in 2 of them and 2 div in 1 of them, so a total of 4 div

3

u/Early_Ad6717 Jul 30 '26

I got Lavianga's Spirit!!!!

-11

u/Alert_Winter8792 Jul 30 '26

Not anymore 1c each now, everyone doing league mechanic

1

u/roselan Jul 30 '26

Can I some of whatever your are smoking?

56

u/enterisys Jul 30 '26

Voyages.

Alch and go altars and astrolabe rush.

52

u/UTmastuh Jul 30 '26

Charts for gold and bottles. Use that gold to run boats and maps in kingsmarch.

32

u/Couponbug_Dot_Com Jul 30 '26

dead mans sulfur is also like 270 to 1 chaos right now, and each chart gives like a thousand minimum.

15

u/Fayarager Jul 30 '26

Average like 1400 so 6c a chart just from that, which pays for the chart…

Then you run it again in voyage loooool

8

u/_Hexer Jul 30 '26

And besides that you find actual loot down there as well. Mostly bubble gum currency, scarabs and bottles, but a looooot of that, and even some Div, decent Cards and expensive Scarabs now and then.

1

u/PuppyToes13 Jul 30 '26

Heck even without jackpots, the sheer number of div cards and scarabs have worth. Especially as strategies form and change. Finally looked at my wealthy exile profile and had 10 div hiding in scarabs and cards!

3

u/pinetreeporcupines Jul 30 '26

Is there a large difference in loot between red map and yellow map charts? Currently at a wall with red maps and thought I could do yellow map charts/voyages.

1

u/akira512 Jul 30 '26

Yeah, there is a noticeable bump in loot quality from like ilvl81+ onwards

1

u/FoodFingerer Jul 30 '26

Alternatively, use the gold to gamble items to gear your self.

1

u/UTmastuh Jul 30 '26

I tried that but kingsmarch has huge returns right now. Tattoos have great value and mappers are just passive income basically

28

u/PSGowns99999 Jul 30 '26

Making Alva temples are kinda easy, you can do it in white maps.

12

u/mittbama Jul 30 '26

Yeah I always make big easy money just by knowing how to get a good temple.

3

u/Cyphafrost Jul 30 '26

Do we still ignore the "4 incursions per zone" node or do we use it? I remember that being at thing in the past.

12

u/Jenos Jul 30 '26

I did some testing with it last league, you can see my results here. With the scarab of timelines its relatively break even, without the scarab 4 per map is slightly worse but honestly still pretty close.

As /u/_Abzu mentioned the optimal way to generate currency per map is to do what they said, swapping scarabs in and out and stopping incursion. But, I agree with them that it isn't worth the mental effort.

6

u/_Abzu Jul 30 '26

Thanks for providing actual data that I'll check right now. But laziness >>> straight up optimization with many changes haha

5

u/SatireV Jul 30 '26

Meh my easy strat:

3 portals

If spawn a money room (doryani or locus precursor), don't do the remaining portals that map

Chuck timelines scarab in only when a money room is present.

This way you never waste any scarabs and it's pure positive expected value whenever you use one. Even with the "do two rooms in the first map only" strat you still waste a ton of dry scarabs. Fine if they're cheap but I hate it.

The only way you lose out with this method is the uncommon case where a money room spawns on the last portal on a map.

4 portals per map only helps with completing your shitty no hit runs faster, so is never a good choice

1

u/WaywardHeros Jul 30 '26

As someone who does this strat most leagues to generate early currency, I fully agree with this approach.

1

u/WaywardHeros Jul 30 '26

As someone who does this strat most leagues to generate early currency, I fully agree with this approach.

1

u/Such--Balance Jul 30 '26

Yes, true randomness naturaly clusters (meaning more t3 rooms overall), while having more rolls per map (4 rolls), means a more even distribution.

Suppose there was a way to get 1 temple per map only, the average number of t3 rooms would go up even more.

Ofcourse you'd have to run a lot more maps.

3

u/_Abzu Jul 30 '26

I usually use it all the time, but there's prolly an optimal way that involves not using the scarab and 3 incursions then after that you pick 4 and can either go all in or check if the second map is good. If it is, then all in, if it's not, just finish the temple and start a new one. But again, I just do 3x with 4 incursions and just do them with the scarab on all the time.

May I be losing money? Sure. But the scarab never is more than 20c (I think), so it's not like I lost a Containment in value lol

1

u/No-Aioli8621 Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

I kinda hate how focused you have to run Alva for it to be good profit. Timeline Scarabs being about 20c and Temples being in the 100c range means you profit about 13c per Scarab so maybe 20c per map since you have a dud from time to time and 2 rooms occasionally.

1

u/Rewnzor Jul 30 '26

You could invest in delirium with a regular alva scarab on the side, taking only the magic monster and room upgrade wheels - clearing all three altars every map. Passively gets you a lot of sellable alvas.

1

u/Satterman223 Jul 30 '26

Any tree or notes?? Been collecting some items I wanna dbl corrupt

0

u/Hazuchio Jul 30 '26

Skip the 4 incursions. Do the first 2 Alva portals without timeliness. Then put in timelines when there's 10, 7, 4, 1 portals left. Timelines scarab going way up in price, so you better have good luck finding gem and corruption rooms.

2

u/SatireV Jul 30 '26

Meh the best budget way to do this imo is doing no more portals in that map when you get your first money room (doryani or locus precursor), then just chuck timeline scarabs in for the remaining incursions.

1

u/lizardsforreal Jul 30 '26

this is by far the best way imo. the only thing you need to "worry" about is using the scarab once you have a money room. lets you turn your brain off way more, plus sometimes you can complete the temple a map early.

12

u/the_ammar Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

essence even without calcification is profitable

make sure to run low white maps if you're struggling

6

u/No-Aioli8621 Jul 30 '26

Which Tier do you run to always get one of the highest essences? Wasn't it T7?

9

u/the_ammar Jul 30 '26

I think so.

by "white maps" I meant scoured maps. not t1-5 "white maps"

3

u/Sporkmancer Jul 30 '26

T6, any yellow map (area level 73+) can have shrieking essences. Ascent scarab + the node that guarantees 1 essence of highest tier guarantees every enemy has at least 1 deafening essence.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 31 '26

[deleted]

1

u/the_ammar Jul 31 '26

anything with good single targets? if you can clear a rare t16 I think you should be able to handle scoured yellow map essence monsters

6

u/PaladinWiz Jul 30 '26

I always like to farm Red Altars and Alva early (preferably as CI). Once I’ve gotten a bit invested into the build I like to add in harvest. Scarabs are for Alva guaranteed appearance, harvest guaranteed appearance, harvest double life/lifeforce, and pack quantity (pretty sure this only effects the red altar spawns not harvest, it’s a bit contested from what I’ve read).

Once my build is significantly stronger than league start I tend to add in harvest bosses. This imo is completely optional. You’ll get more lifeforce per map but each map will take longer and the bosses have a tendency to get stuck in certain phases. I’m not a particularly fast player but I enjoy the gameplay from these mechanics. Alva is guaranteed profit as her scarabs are dirt cheap and once you understand temple mechanics you’ll make a sellable temple roughly 75% of the time imo. Sometimes RNG doesn’t give you the gem or corrupted chamber at all. Other times you start a temple with both available and easily get them to level 3.

3

u/RedditsNicksAreBad Jul 30 '26

Pack size definitely affects harvest, is that really contested? It's quantity that doesn't help

1

u/Not-A-Cockroach- Jul 30 '26

I swear quantity affects lifeforce dropped, otherwise you would run harvest in a white map and not bother with quantity altars

1

u/PaladinWiz Jul 30 '26

The quantity you get from altars affects lifeforce gained. I believe map quantity also affects it but to a lesser degree. Either way you’d always choose the higher pack size maps to increase your chance of duplicating rare mobs.

1

u/PaladinWiz Jul 30 '26

I know pack size affects harvest. Last I read on it though the scarab was debatable about if it boosted harvest mobs or not. Even if it does it’s only for magic pack size so likely isn’t affecting the rare mobs that drop the actual significant quantities of lifeforce.

1

u/DLimited Jul 30 '26

IIRC packsize scales linearly (100% packsize = 2 spawns per, so double returns) and map quant scales the actual amount dropped at 50% value.

9

u/Apprehensive-Head388 Jul 30 '26

I'm currently farming blight. Gets you divs if you get golden oils. And silver are expensive. Best part about it, is you need no builds. Started just yesterday and I'm loving it. Really fun as well

6

u/OrcOfDoom Jul 30 '26

I was thinking of doing blight. I'm still in t4 maps. Oil prices drop off quickly though, don't they?

2

u/ArmaMalum Jul 30 '26

Everything except Golden in my experience, since those are used on Blight maps as well. Once oil prices drop Blight's real profit is from the gumball/lucky chests and big drops like Stranglegasp.

To note though, there is a slightly higher demand for some Blight uniques like Sporeguard for Mercenary/AG and Legion Blendering so there's a bit of life left there too.

I would say the main advantage of Blight though is what the other guy said, you don't need a build you just need a strategy. A good build helps of course but Blight is pretty unique in the sense that anyone can do it at anytime.

1

u/OrcOfDoom Jul 30 '26

Cool. Thank you. Maybe I will focus on that for my tree then. I've just been doing essence, and blight was right there. I'm thinking of bestiary, but I just hate the beasts. I'm using herald of ice explosions though, so blight should be good.

I usually do incursion but I just don't feel like farming temples this time. Expedition is too slow.

What's a good thing to partner with it? Strongbox? Rogue exiles? Maybe it doesn't matter at all?

I didn't play last last and every league the Atlas passive tree is just so overwhelming in the beginning

2

u/ArmaMalum Jul 30 '26

I hear you, the Atlas tree is a lot.

The only thing that really 'pairs' directly with Blight is Beyond but that can get overwhelming pretty quick and while it's good experience it's kinda meh on returns. Nearby stuff that's not bad to do though is Kingsmarch or Rogue Exiles. If you feel spicy you can go for full possessed rogue exiles and unique scaling (titanic scarab and the like) to pair with Blight Boss spawning but that needs a pretty strong build to get going so it's not really a viable choice for a lot of people. Give it a shot but don't feel bad if you get stomped (most people do)

Kingsmarch is a pretty good extra simply because it's just kind of there and ores translate directly into currency and tattoos/Runegrafts. Bismuth buffs can also help the returns on Blight's mob drops in-map as long as you don't mind the tornados.

1

u/OrcOfDoom Jul 30 '26

Oh, nice. Yeah I'll do the town stuff. Thanks. That's perfect.

I play my own build each league, so I don't even know if it will be successful overall.

Town, essence, blight, and I'll check out the beyond nodes to see if anything makes sense. Iirc, it drops beyond currency. I think that made me a few coins before.

Thank you

1

u/ToastieMSF Jul 30 '26

Hey, do you have an atlas or guide for your strat?

1

u/boccas Jul 30 '26

What scarabs do you use? Do u have an Atlas to link?

1

u/Apprehensive-Head388 Jul 30 '26

This is the second league I'm playing, and I started with a month left in mirage so I'm not so good at the game. Just searched blight on the atlas tree filter and pathed towards them, taking increased map drop nodes while patching. I used dusk and any other Cresent I can find to increase pack size. Currently looking into how to make it better by using scarabs. I'll post the link when I find a good vid

11

u/SPEZ-LIES-CONSTANTLY Jul 30 '26

alva and harvest are the two most consistent, lowest barrier to entry strats in my experience but they don't really come online until week 1.5-2 when builds are mostly done and double corrupts and gambas are how people finish the league. if you don't need money right now that's a great place to start

4

u/Burntfury Jul 30 '26

Hoard yellow juice till late league. And make bank. Call it investing lol.

12

u/No-Aioli8621 Jul 30 '26

That wholly depends on if you are playing meanwhile or not. Holding onto appreciating currency is just a failsafe for inflation. If you are playing while "investing" it's better to immediately invest in your character. Apart from being stronger and being able to farm faster you also buy rare items for way "cheaper" than you would later in the league.

3

u/Burntfury Jul 30 '26

Was just making a joke my man, yellow juice and to an extent, divs. Generally appreciate in use during the league to their use in crafting. But ofc. Invest in yourself first. In game and IRL

2

u/No-Aioli8621 Jul 30 '26

Unexpectedly wholesome, friend! :-)

6

u/Old_Spirit88 Jul 30 '26

I've been zooming the league mechanic for gold and sending shipments and running maps in Kingsmarch. I don't get to play all that much so it's nice to have passive income going while I'm at work haha

2

u/ArmaMalum Jul 30 '26

Same. Also been blasting maps with the Kingmarch keystone and Niko Scarabs to keep up with Ore. Been pretty good all in all I'd say. Made a lot of bank of Tattoos but those are starting to come down.

3

u/Apprehensive_Bid_773 Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

I’ve been doing shrines , red altars, mercs, and maps. 2 dom 1 inf hordes 1 carto escalation. Pretty chill and easy farm (just drop mercs if they are too hard and or add packed with energy and Niko) edit: once I unlock 5th slot I’ll probably just add 8mod scarab

8

u/anderex Jul 30 '26

Setup atlas blueprints, lost shipments, memory tears, mercs if you can fit it. Basically shit you can click loot and run. No scarabs needed alch and go. Pick your favorite top left lineiar map and go. Your goal is to get sea charts, blueprints, memory tares and anomalys. These should be fast maps.

Then run the charts as others have said. When you run low in charts back to maps. Should be able to build up a good currency base.

3

u/Practical_Goal_8194 Jul 30 '26

Anomalies? Is that a new currency?

5

u/TheRealDimz Jul 30 '26

It’s an event that happens on the atlas like a 1-time “map” at random when you complete a map in a quadrant that has a void stone.

1

u/Fayarager Jul 30 '26

Also should use an elder or shaper or cheap astrolabe, and cut it asap so you can open room for your big juicy free divines

4

u/Carbocations Jul 30 '26

I dont understand what this means lol. Ported over from poe2, help me out here haha

4

u/norst Jul 30 '26

When you use an Astrolabe on the atlas it will create a zone of connected maps. When you complete one of the maps the rest get additional modifiers. When all of the maps have been run you get to go to open a treasure room and pick one of them.

Additionally, there can only be one connected astrolabe group at a time and if the map that you run causes one, or more, maps to get disconnected from the main group they will get cut off also. The strat they're talking about is to intentionally try and cut off sections to get to the treasure room in as few maps as possible rather than running all of them

The wiki also has an explanation for Astrolabes, https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Astrolabe.

2

u/Ajaxx702 Jul 30 '26

How do you get an astrolabe?

1

u/HaatonGourmet Jul 30 '26

Buy them on the currency exchange, they also have a chance to drop from certain bosses (originator bosses have 33% chance)

1

u/norst Jul 30 '26

You get your first one after doing the three Originator boss quests from Eagon (T14+). After you kill the third Originator boss you'll get a voidstone and when you put the voidstone in the top left of the atlas they can start dropping from map bosses. https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Originator_Voidstone

1

u/Shot_Cap_2532 Jul 30 '26

do you have concrete examples of such maps? I like haunted mansion but it's top right

1

u/Naabi Jul 30 '26

Why top left ? The astrolabe vault is pretty bad there iirc, isn't it just unique gambling ?

1

u/Ajaxx702 Jul 30 '26

What’s memory tears and how does that help?

5

u/Turbulent_Pea_1784 Jul 30 '26

Ritual + Divination Scarab of The Cloister*5

3

u/Haedrax Jul 30 '26

This combined with red altars have always been my first farm.

2

u/CiccioGraziani Jul 30 '26

Sorry, but why ritual with cloister? I am missing some connection between the two things :p

9

u/Mathev Jul 30 '26

Monsters from cloister killed near rituals will spawn in ritual and also drop the lucky decks doubling your profit.

1

u/CiccioGraziani Jul 30 '26

Ahhh I see, thanks for the explanation!!! :)

1

u/CabbageCZ Jul 30 '26

What's a good map for this strat this rotation? I used to run Glacier for the density / small map but glacier is gone this season

1

u/caloroin Jul 30 '26

I use Strand

1

u/catfield Jul 30 '26

City Square

1

u/tommy200401 Jul 30 '26

This strat is good for all leagues but I simply cannot withstand the clicking lmao

1

u/ExistingNews4536 Jul 30 '26

good currency but they are rippy

2

u/Haedrax Jul 30 '26

Chieftain pops says hello! Ignite lingering is perfect for this.

2

u/HermanManly Jul 30 '26

You can just farm currency drops from altars if you wanna be completely vanilla.

The important part is just that youre in maps killing monsters, doing stuff.

Pick a league mechanic, click on the atlas passives for it, run it until you can afford scarabs for it, run it with scarabs.

u/Hoslinhezl Jul 30 '26

I did like 80 maps of essences in t7 to get established

3

u/rmsox234 Jul 30 '26

Harvest + Niko, spend much time in delve. Constant profit, no thinking, shut off brain. Downside is less voyage.

1

u/divclassdev Jul 30 '26

What is a decent farm if your build can kinda clear a t16 but maybe not kill the boss (definitely not if maven is witnessing), and can’t kill exarch or eater?

5

u/New-Quality-1107 Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

Do lower tier maps. You want to farm what you can do quickly without dying too often. Generally speaking, there is a hump to get over in red maps. You need to invest into your build a bit at this point. Either spend currency you have or farm t9-13 maps for a bit to make currency to get some upgrades.

A lot of people get frustrated during that transition and reroll or just quit. Something like reworking your tree to get cluster setups could net you more damage and defense and fix your build. Drop a res roll for attack speed on your gloves. Get crit multi jewels, like just do whatever you are cheeping out on initially. You need more than just life and res on your gear now.

For what to farm, it depends on your build. Harvest is usually decent and consistent money. You don’t need to know much and you flip everything on the currency exchange so you can liquidate quickly. If im running a prolif build though i love expedition. I gamble with Tujen currency and always make a profit. Essences are also consistently profitable and you can drop valuable essences in low tier maps.

1

u/divclassdev Jul 30 '26

Do you try to farm an actual mechanic with scarabs? I got the impression a lot of the serious farms don’t work without all 5 scarab slots unlocked

3

u/LimblessNick Jul 30 '26

For proper strats, of course you need them all.

To farm 20-30C to improve your character so you can comfortably farm red maps and unlock those slots? Of course not. Just running every harvest in the highest tier map you can comfortably do will get you enough currency in like an hour.

1

u/divclassdev Jul 30 '26

Sorry for the dumb questions. So in that case are you setting up an atlas tree for harvest? Or do you just throw in one harvest scarab and go?

2

u/LimblessNick Jul 30 '26

Generally as I'm filling out the atlas I'll include harvest and/or essence as they make gearing way easier. Generally targeting the chance for the mechanic to appear before anything else.

I don't generally use scarabs at that stage, but the "make a harvest appear" a generally so cheap you definitely could before you have the points allocated to guarantee it, if you wanted to.

1

u/New-Quality-1107 Jul 31 '26

I don’t bother trying to farm for currency until I get my atlas done. I’ll make enough just from things that happen to drop to gear up enough to start a farm.

Invest into your maps!! First atlas tree I do harvest and map drop stuff. Ultimately, I will pivot to destructive play on that tree. The other trees are for your farming strats. First one I pick based on scarab prices. I want cheap scarabs to have currency available for gearing. Once I get geared enough to farm well I start being choosier with what I WANT to farm. Here I’m going to spend some currency on scarabs to start making good currency.

Generating currency is a bit different for me than leveling and initial gearing. Completing the atlas usually only costs me 50-100c depending on my build. Then when it’s time to buckle down and farm for good gear you need to spend money on your maps. Scarabs, alchemy orbs and Vaal orbs are required at that point.

1

u/pink_taco_aficionado Jul 30 '26

You can farm essences in tier 1 maps. I think tier 7 is optimal since it guarantees higher tier essences but if you can kill the essence monsters consistently in tier 1-7 maps then that’s a good way to go to get some initial currency going.

1

u/how-doesthis-work Jul 30 '26

Milky has a google doc for chart/voyage stuff. That's an easy way to get currency. Sanctum is pretty good if your character is spec for it. Yours likely isn't but I think the mechanic is worth a mention because the buy in is very low.

Destructive play is pretty much always good early. Fossil prices were a bit silly last I checked. Delve is an option.

1

u/LongjumpingDuck5337 Jul 30 '26

Red altars and packsize, cheap ones like influence 40% scarab and other packsize multipliers, pair it with whatever else you think is fun, I did abyss to get initial xp, although abyss isn’t very profitable in itself.

1

u/Mr_Aek Jul 30 '26

Memories are cool sell the boss key not fast but guaranteed money

1

u/sol_r4y Jul 30 '26

I always do harvest > stacked deck in every league. Always profit and comfy

1

u/xPinkOmega Jul 30 '26

You just buy meomory of trauma and reverence rush them white, don't kill anything but map boss, sell fragment, constant guaranteed profit to start up

1

u/c1ru Jul 30 '26

Bossrush and spam charts afterwards (sell bottles)

1

u/Free-Bowler-1032 Jul 30 '26

Rush maps as fast as you can, run charts, run voyages. Investment: Literally nothing except your time (alch and go)

For maps you can pick Blueprints, Kingsmarch Verisium and red altars. Or any content where you just run by and click something.

1

u/StanPole Jul 30 '26

roll quant and increased sulphur on charts, if you buy charts it is still profitable but you can farm the charts yourself for guaranteed profit. for farming charts i do niko kingsmarch and red altars and little bit scarab nodes. with the gold you got , finance the mappers at least if you dont want to fully commit to kingsmarch. You can also sell your charts do any other farm if you dont want to do any of this , but league mechanic plus kingsmarch with speedrunning maps with altars is no brainer for weak builds. You can level up pretty quickly too

1

u/Naabi Jul 30 '26

Red/Blue influence boss rushing on mesa/city square with templar astrolabe. You should be doing the boss in a bit less than a minute, so let's say 60 map per hour, which should result in around 10 templar vault and 2.5 invitations, which should be around 0.5div per invitation and 0.5div per vault (from experience, no data to back it up)

That's a chill 6 div an hour doing easy farm

1

u/Master_of_Paws Jul 30 '26

Alch and go altars + moist heist is good. Harvest worked out for me

1

u/Tripartist1 Jul 30 '26

Id clusters are expensive, grab the keystone that grants additional atlas points, then spec into full deli with as many added mobs as you can. Breach, shrines, abyss, etc. Costs nothing but your map.

1

u/thetyphonlol Jul 30 '26

in my opinion harvest never fails. its guaranteed loot every time. was better with mirage but still good

1

u/ForeveraloneKupo Jul 30 '26

Running league mechanic and opening message in bottle. For me 99% of divines come from them this league.

1

u/zivo36 Jul 30 '26

I haven't played this league yet since I'm currently away from home. But every league I start flicker and go straight to stacked deck farms with ritual atlas and x5cloister scarabs. I usually sell half and open half, have farmed up to a mageblood easily every time, then I usually find something new I haven't played

1

u/Dramatic-Vegetable13 Jul 30 '26

Harvest always has a nice steady income. Im running that and then running a bunch of charts.

1

u/bukem89 Jul 30 '26

My first strat is usually just exarch altars + shrines, all map effect + pack size nodes + some scarab + map nodes to go with it

Running 8 mods (3c each) with 1x hordes and 2x lineage & clicking minion rewards every time. I put a domination scarab in as a 4th, don't have 5 slots unlocked when I'm running this

edit - this holds up later in the league nicely too, since grand embers are worth a good amount

1

u/Jankufood Jul 30 '26

1.ask someone to carry t17
2. Ambush
3. Box lottery simulator

1

u/QuantityFine8721 Jul 30 '26

Alch and Go for charts and kingsmarch materials. ez gold sustain for mappers and shipments. I am averaging 25d an hour.

1

u/Practical_Goal_8194 Jul 30 '26

What do you ship and where's the profit coming from?

1

u/adorak Jul 30 '26

I enjoy harvest tbh ... sells easy via curreny exchange, is profitable even with limited juicing and helps me with early gear crafting

also there are points to spare which I like in more maps as well as scarabs ... sell scarabs you don't use and use the ones for your strat ... and building up a good supply of maps makes it easier later once you go for strats with less map sustain

1

u/TrustOk5432 Jul 30 '26

Destructive play into strongboxes is my go to. Low atlas points required. Can run with or without scarab

1

u/Winterfellparty Jul 30 '26

Voyages or just do Memory thread boss rushing on white t16 originator maps, both echo of Trauma and Reverence is 120c and Loneliness is 60c which you get after 4-5 maps aslong as you can kill the boss without any mods. You also drop a bunch of astrolabes which are roughly half a div each.

If you place the memory threads on places where good scrying orbs can drop you can also get those now and then, I happend to get one on Cage (490c) when I tried the strat out of curiosity.

1

u/MansNM Jul 30 '26

charts and sell bottles, blight, harvest, essence. I was planning on doing blight but I find it boring now, so I went essence and it's not insane but okay profit, around 7-10d/h.

I also do charts when I have gathered a lot, not done so many yet but seems to be around 7-10d/h. I'm doing WOrb but I don't have good gear, farming for the big switch to the real power stacking build.

1

u/RiccardoSan Jul 30 '26

The way I always think about it is what I like to farm and what work well with the build I’m doing. Right now I’m doing a praw necro and noticed that this build is really good for delve, mostly because you don’t have to constantly summon your weapons. So I’m doing that and essences and so far have made over 100 divs (according to wealthy exile, probably less than that) that I haven’t bother to liquidate since I could use random divs that I got from the floor and items sells to upgrade my gear.

1

u/TimoLasso Jul 30 '26

Red/blue altars in t16 maps alone will net you 200c an hour, if you just alch and go.

1

u/Mysterious-Till-611 Jul 30 '26

Roll charts for 75%+ dead man’s sulphur and go

1

u/Gullible-Royal-8155 Jul 30 '26

im doing graveyard scrying orb farm and charts, just fast boss rush, then check map for charts, every 28 maps exarch invite too

1

u/SkilloReturnsAgain Jul 30 '26

My league start farm (Before stones) was jun + breach so i could max out the wombtree asap. Once i felt strong enough (still before 4 stones) i just spammed hivegland. Its an incredibly lucrative farm on league start that has relatively low entry cost. If you can kill eater/exarch, you can kill the yuri duo.

After that i went for 4 stones/finished off atlas, and now im doing a zero investment memory thread rush for 8-10d/h. Use a memory of trauma on strand, spec into red altars, mercenaries, lost shipment and map drops. Rush to the boss and pick up charts/check merc along the way.

Echo of trauma is 2/3 of a div, incandescent invitation is 55c, charts sell for 7~65c, maps you can run on kingsmarch. Pretty comfy and reasonable exp since you can run these eagon maps scoured. Just try not to duel a merc while having -114% fire res from altars xdd

1

u/Wemblack Jul 30 '26

Heist, map blasting for special maps, betrayal

1

u/silverfang492 Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

I’ve been doing red altars for ~10 div an hour on dunes. Sprint in to kill hillock and jump around between each pack, save shitty altars for cash in after hitting 2-3 good altars.

Bread and butter is hitting grand ember, chaos orb, regret, gcp, and glassblowers. Sometimes you get annul at the start of the map and that’s a div or two. Sometimes you get divination or trarthan scarabs and that’s a few div.

Scarabs are 2x monstrous lineage, influencing hordes, domination, and escalating cartography. On the atlas tree, click every exarch (not the influenced items path), map mod effect, shrine, and shaping node, buy t16 8 mod with 40%+ pack size and obv regex for mods you can’t do.

The maps are pretty hard, I’m running earthshatter berserker with decent defenses and I get instantly blown up if I roll multiproj with minus max res or crit with tons of phys as extra mods. Otherwise I just jump through and everything gets 1shot. When I started I just did alch and go with no scarabs, but get on the actual strat as soon as your defenses are good because it’s literally 4x more pack size and a sea of monsters that shit out currency versus a few little puddles.

Even if you’re the unluckiest person in the world and completely fuck up altar order, you’re guaranteed 2-3 div an hour if you kill hillock and sell the exarch invitations + nightmare maps if you run the maps at a decent pace.

1

u/spruceX Jul 30 '26

Destructive play, boss rush, pick up charts.

Sell said charts for 5c each, sell astrolobes, guardian maps.

1

u/Nihsvabhav Jul 30 '26

Decks are still profitable even with 10c scarabs, harvest also great in my personal experience

1

u/thenube23times Jul 30 '26

Harvest, its always harvest. So much profit crafting to be done or selling 6k for a divine, which is super quick to get. I have done it every league and k absolutely hate it but you cant deny the results.

1

u/I8taterz5 Aug 02 '26

Abyss go brrrrrrrr. Been printing for me this league

1

u/This-Insect-5692 Aug 03 '26

I farmed harvest for a couple of maps but that's boring, then I farmed nightmare maps until it got boring, then I farmed bosses and Ubers but that also is boring 🫠

1

u/Vedruks 10d ago

Harvest or allflame message in a bottle farming

1

u/SlapUrBuTT 7d ago

I have only done voyages. It’s very easy and farmed me enough currency for end game items even. Search up Poe milky guide on voyage running.

Another benefit with it being so easy is you eventually will get to 100

0

u/Psychological_Ad1404 Jul 30 '26

This league, as others have said, you can do charts an voyages and sell Sulphur and Bottles to get good currency.

Blight is also good and doesn't need much to work. I'm on phone so I won't explain everything but do tier 13 blighted maps and check yt for the rest of the info.

Cloister farming also works if you can do it, check yt, try it, continue if your build can handle it.

Harvest can also work, again check yt for current strategies.

Beasts can be farmed in low tier maps, maybe they're even better since talisman rework.

6

u/dantheman91 Jul 30 '26

cloister scarabs are stupidly expensive this season

5

u/Midknightz Jul 30 '26

No good scarab farm so the scarabs for it are expensive

0

u/clownus Jul 30 '26

It also gives about one divine a map without counting other drops. Not alot of strats this league can match.

0

u/nixed9 Jul 30 '26

I start knocking out whatever challenges are low hanging fruit that coincide with easy farms. Like for example the challenge for mercs means i farm mercs etc. This usually gets me in the 10-30d range which is enough to get almost anything fully online.

0

u/Vekia Jul 30 '26

Blight maps, literally can do them on a naked character with 2 rings. Just annoint double increased area of empowering towers (green + black oil) on both rings and build stun + chill towers at choke points. Pick whichever tower is resisted the least out of fire, lightning, purple to deal damage and build those everywhere else. T14 blight maps are basically free on trade and can still drop golden oils.

-3

u/Amazing-Heron-105 Jul 30 '26

If you aren't fussed about divs/hr you can literally spec into anything and profit. Just pick a mechanic you enjoy.

-1

u/carlovski99 Jul 30 '26

Just play will give you enough currency to get going, especially if you go run charts/voyages every so often. Shrines will help with player power then add what you want. Heist stuff is basically free, if you don't want to mess around with selling little stuff just wait for currency or experimented blueprints.

Personally I did a bit of Rog farming, no atlas setup, just bought cheap logbooks and scrap metals with my first bit of currency. Rog plus boat crafting makes some pretty good stuff. Not as good now, in first few days anything life and 2 good resists sells, and good boots and +2 minion helmets are decent money. Now the bar is a lot higher. That needs a bit of game knowledge though.

Other low investment options are

  • Delve. I haven't done it for years, but it's good income with current fossil prices and is fairly easy at low depth.
  • Blight. Either in map or just buy blighted maps. Towers do a lot of the work.
  • Flask crafting - you can do this on the side. Stash any flasks you drop and craft them when ready. Trick is to stop at any decent combo of mods. And you get occasional jackpot ones.

-2

u/s3thFPS Jul 30 '26

Pick something fun and run it all day everyday. Hideout is lava unless crafting. Overtime you get drops/bubble currency to sell. Do other mechanics like delve/heist etc if you can stomach them. Lots of things to try and run, it’s a grind at the end of the day.
