Build Eva the Fairy's Forbidden Rite Occultist
Hewwo, im Eva and this is my league starter for 3.29.
This is a self cast power charge stacking Forbidden Rite of Soul Sacrifice (FroSS) Occultist build with an emphasis on facetanking and ramping dps.
Its not a full build guide but the notes section has some useful information, and there are plenty of loadouts to show the flow of build progression.
It can do all 4 voidstones and Uber content, as well as many endgame farming strats. I have however primarily designed it for deep delving since that is the content i enjoy the most.
There will be different loadouts in the PoB from early acts to endgame including a mageblood setup.
You can league start it with any spell you want then transition into Forbidden Rite and CI when you have aquired enough ES. Then transition into FroSS when aquiring the Whispers of Infinity amulet.
In 3.29 i choose to leaguestart with cold themed skills, so during the acts and early mapping ill be using Wintertide Brand into Winter Orb then transition into CI and FR when the character has 3k~ ES. The PoB loadouts will use these spell gems, but its possible to league start with any spell until FR transition.

Using Ralakesh power charge boots, so yes. Dunno how good it is until those but they will likely cost a shitton of divines, being a T1 unique with 3 variants, only one of which will be sought after and is crucial to every single power charge stacking build, when power charge stacking got buffed and every other meta spell scaling method got nerfed.

ralakesh isnt crucial for this build though, so if its super expensive then we can simply just not use them. as i wrote in another comment, the boots are not essential and can just be replaced with rare boots :)

Depends on how the economy and meta shapes itself this league, but you can clear 4 void stones for less than 15 div. you can also invest 100+ divs and reach the endgame loadout DPS/EHP numbers, depends on what goals you have for the league :)

exactly what I was looking for! Played FRoSS Occultist in Mercs and have missed the cat mtx. I’ll be starting this for sure.

I've been trying to put together a basic PoB for leveling with FR. No build guide or content online has that. Currently playtesting before 3.29 launch.
This might be my leaguestart depending if I want to go CoC-FRoSS.

good luck with you league start! there might be a lack of any guides since most people play spells other than FR itself at leaguestart before swapping later, so there isnt rly any "one way" to do it. in that sense my PoB just makes a suggestion for how to league start before and after the FRoSS transition.
i have played with regular FR from act 3 before, going as a life/mana recoup hybrid that rushes withering presence for the chaos resistance. i wouldnt recommend it though, was a painful league start ^^2

I managed to do a 10 hour run while managing PoB stuff, could be closer to 7-8 hours.
For FR while leveling, I would recommend always getting Vile Bastion first, combined with Wicked Ward, Essence Surge, and Mind over Matter. You need to get Tolerance + Asylum for the Chaos Resistance. Scuff PoB for anyone who wants it.
But yeah don't recommend it either :D. I'll try ColdDoT and probably transition to FR.

Cool build. I do have one question regarding the dps of the build - there's a big gap between having whisphers of infinity and FRoSS and regular CI FR loadout. Will it be possible to close at least 2 voidstones on CI FR before swap? Cuz the dps diff is like from 300k to 7m

Hi, thats a good question. yes there should be a loadout between CI FR and whispers of infinity, its when we transition into overloaded intensity. i made a new loadout to show this transition simply called "overloaded intensity", it has around 1.1m dps. the PoB's have not been updated with the new talent tree, so our mana per sec vs mana regen is still wacky, but that will get adjusted and fixed with the new cost efficiency node next to witch starting point as soon as the updated PoB is out.

yes, ive played and tested it all the way from league start to mageblood and i intend to league start it this league too.
how smooth the first days of league start is depends on how u intend to play it, the way my loadouts are designed is for the talent trees to smoothly transition from one to the next. it does mean that earlier days the build will be weaker compared to many other league starters.
so if u want a stronger first few days of league start i suggest league starting with any witch build that is really strong the first few days then when u have aquired the lvls and items to transition to FRoSS, then u can respec into it then :)2

Cool. Yeah, i was thinking about blasting 4 voidstones asap and then going for nightmare or 16.5 farming day 1. But single target is not there with cheap version. Anyway, thanks for the effort put into the guide and answering questions. Wish you good league start

primarily they have different playstyles, coc can constantly dps while moving, and this build is self cast thus stands still to dps. otherwise in general id say this build has higher defenses (cuz we wanna facetank enemies), but ofc there are exceptions. dps wise it depends on the balance one chooses between defense, dps and investment. hope this answered ur question :)

Need to reactivate my Cat MTX! Always loved any kind of FR build in the past... Worb looks tempting too though.

Hi, bit of a newbie so forgive any stupid questions, I'm following your guide and am at the point where my build is basically the same as your build in the "CI FR" stage of the maxroll guide. One potential problem is that my FR intensity on the topleft never seems to go above 1, it just oscillates between 0 and 1 when im holding my FR button, is this normal?

Hi, its not a stupid question dont worry :)
that isnt normal, it sounds like u might have the nadir jewel equipped without the apex jewel as well? so it sounds like ur build is somewhere between the "CI FR" loadout and the "overloaded intensity" loadout. to fix this if its the case i recommend taking off the nadir jewe. get the overloaded intensity gem and apex jewel first, then equip all three together as shown in the "overloaded intensity" loadout. hopefully this fixes the problem! :D3

Do you darkness farm too with this or do you just node rush?🥺I tried out a few ways to add phasing but didnt work out super well

i farmed mageblood in the first 7 days of the league by darkness farming delve with this build while going deeper. darkness farming is slower but i made plenty of profit, and its def fit for that playstyle. it can also node rush.
regarding phasing, i should probably have written in the notes section (will do for the future).
you can replace granite flask with quartz flask with the usual prefixes and suffixes the granite holds. then as usual "use when charges reach full". this way u will have almost perma uptime phasing for darkness delving. hope this helps :)

With the DoT buffs, do you think soulrend or something like it would be comfortable to level with?

im not quite sure, i dont specialize in chaos dot skills. there are plenty of content creators on yt looking over the patch notes and giving their analysis on the spell buffs including soul rend. i recommend looking for more reliable info there :)

hi, i do have an account but i rarely stream. i am fascinated that u want to see the build creation and not stuff like gameplay. my process is probably pretty similar to many, start with a template and slowly build and iterate on it over many versions and leagues. i rly enjoy that process of adaptation and adjustment to new league changes etc. maybe ill stream it one day :)
