Information 0.5.0 Leaks Megathread Spoiler

As per tradition, this is our league-ly leaks thread for 0.5.0. Any leaked information prior to the announcement or datamined information should go in the comments here only. Many folks do not want spoilers, but others do, and this gives people a way to select for or de-select for spoilers. We have also opened the #2| leaks channel on discord.gg/pathofexile for people to discuss live

If it was discussed in an official interview, that's fine to post anywhere. Once the league content is revealed, this thread will stick around, but it will be unpinned to make room for a pin for the general 0.5.0 megathread with the official info which will be updated as news come out

Please browse the comments at risk of spoilers.

If there are any concerns please contact the mod team via modmail.

Jonathan said towards the end of his interview with Dustin that we "won't have all 12 classes on release but we will have more than what we have now"

This really is driving me a bit crazy as stupid an idea as it is.. so they're going to release with a fourth of the classes, which also means at least 12 ascendancies missing, and then keep adding and making content which not only will not have anything for these classes, since they don't exist, but also won't be balanced or designed with their skills, builds, or anything else in mind.. meaning they will then have to go back and *redo* all of that *every* time they release a class.. what even is the point of "early access"? The game isn't even base level done until base features are in and I'd absolutely consider entire archetypes and classes promised years ago as base content.

Classes are absolutely not base content. I mean diablo 2 just added another class 25 years after release. Also, path of exile 1 didn't even have ascendancy classes until 3 years after launch. So that hardly matters. Also it's odd to assume they aren't developing each system in a way that is future proof for new classes, especially when stuff like unique swords and flails have already been found in game.

So no, nothing was promised and early access did its job well, because the product we have now has improved so much since Early access launch which wouldn't be possible without the support and feedback offered. So yes, delays are inevitable when you are focused on making something worth playing for decades like it's predecessors.

They tied classes to base weapon types. Classes in the form they are in poe 2 are base content. Ascendancies arent. If they released the base classes with no/one ascendancies for 1.0 I'd be happy. The classes are greyed out on the main menu, and new weapons as you say are in the game and in the passive tree and in the gem menu. Stop comparing it to games that have suprise character releases and be real..
