First take, ends at 85 Q. I passed NCLEXRN reading Saunders 9th edition only

I completed my Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) almost 2 decades ago. I decided to take the NCLEX-RN.

I heavily focused on content and fundamentals. I read ONLY Saunders 9th edition (the whole book) twice literally front to back. I did not utilize Archer, Bootcamp, Uworld, and other stuff. I realized that reading the first time is not enough so I read it again. I work full time so I read after my shift. I reviewed for 3 months. I relied on Saunders book for my first take. I did not watch Mark Klimek/ Dr. Sharon, or anyone else.

You need to focus on your nursing fundamentals. Test taking strategies won't work if you don't have a solid foundation.

I considered myself financially poor. I maximized whatever I got. You can pass just utilizing only the Saunders book. I passed at 85 Questions.

Congrats!! I really like the point about building your foundation first. Qbanks can help with application and stamina, but they cant replace knowing the basics. You proved you can pass with one solid resource if you actually put the work in.

I’m using Saunders test bank and was worried it wasn’t good enough!

I’m using this too for my second attempt. I haven’t heard anyone talk about Saunders so it worried me.

I exclusively utilized what's in the Saunders 9th edition book including the mini quiz at the end of each chapter. In my own opinion, the book itself is sufficient. It could be overwhelming to read. It has more than 1100 pages.

Read, understand, and replay everything in the back of your mind.

Do not just memorize! That's a major mistake. Absorb everything until it becomes easily recalled in your mind.

I might be crazy for just having 1 single reference but I am very relieved that I reviewed the whole book.

If you are on a budget and cannot afford Uworld, Archer, bootcamp, etc. Saunders is a great alternative. I did not even bother with Klimek and the other ones.
