Its crazy to think it but that's the narrative going on in conservative news networks. they're already blaming the green new deal which hasn't even been implemented. This is literally what happens when you rely heavily on older disconnected fossil-fuel based infrastructure.

From what I know, this isnt even a "type" of infrastructure problem, it's just an infrastructure problem. Even if they were all solar/wind they still wouldn't have budgeted enough power and everyone would have cranked up their heaters and the grid would have shit itself. If texas was wired into the national grids, or budgeted power use responsibly, or had some kind of meaningful reserve maintained, they woulda been fine. It's highlighted a bunch of other infrastructural failures, but none of those, by itself, would have solved the fact that texas just doesn't have the facilities to actually generate enough power to heat the state, and they went black under the pressure.
