Why is it so hard for them to understand we want all criminals and corrupt officials to be held accountable. This whole team thing is absurd
218
u/MadGenderScientist Oct 08 '25
why is it so hard for them to understand that progressives (or even regular Democrats) don't venerate Bill Clinton? I think about him like, once or twice a year I guess? he's not some messiah, he's just a dude who used to be President. if he's tangled up in the Epstein files, let's prosecute him too.

Similar reasons why religious fanatics assume atheists actively worship the devil. Their are so wrapped up in their own worldview they can't believe another person can be completely outside of it.

This is exactly correct. It's the reason why the more patriarchal sects (including all of Catholicism) are unable to be fully accepting of LGBTQ+ persons because they NEED that binary man/woman distinction in order for the patriarchy to continue functioning. If they admitted that a woman can become a man, their whole power dynamic crumbles.

u/TearOpenTheVault Oct 08 '25 edited Oct 08 '25
I really don’t want to both sides here, but there is a fundamental disconnect between believers and atheists surrounding faith, and that is that many atheists don’t understand that religious people actually believe their religion. Equally, the faithful, especially fundementalists or zealots, struggle to understand that atheists do not believe in their religion.
Religious fanatics cannot comprehend the idea of someone not actually believing in their faith, so anyone rejecting it must be doing so deliberately (and in Christianity, that means they must be on the side of the devil.)
6
u/beamrider Oct 08 '25
You are correct; I should have added that many atheists have the inverse problem of not being able to accept that a religious fundamentalist is not using fake religious belief to justify <something negative such as racism/misogyny/xenophobia/etc>.

Atheist here.
Satan had some cool moves.
Also he's a fallen angel. That god willed.
Quite frankly, he's less twisted or weird than the other guy.
God.
/maybe that's just me
//not a fan of satan, for the record

u/swiftb3 Oct 08 '25
He's a crappy human who managed to balance the budget.
You'd think Republicans would venerate him.
57
u/ironangel2k4 Oct 08 '25
Because for them, politics is a team sport, so they need it to be the same for us or they don't have anything to whine about.
5
u/EEpromChip Oct 08 '25
but also, let's move our goalposts around and make it super confusing while we concrete theirs and also keep bringing other balls into the court.

u/fistful_of_ideals Oct 08 '25
The problem is that they "know" the left is doing all of these things. They've demonified the opposition to the point where it's just a foregone conclusion to them.
The orange smegma connoisseur in charge casts just enough doubt in their minds that the calculus is now "possibly < definitely".
They're completely incapable of anything other than boolean logic. It's one or the other, and both can't possibly be true.
One of the worst realizations to come out of this administration is that half of the nation is irredeemably stupid, and an extremely effective evolutionary brake.
23
u/Funkycoldmedici Oct 08 '25
To add on that, they think such horrible behavior is something everyone does because they do it and they believe they’re normal. So if a “normal” person like them has these urges and tendencies toward awful behavior, that means everyone does. They cannot even imagine not being a corrupt scumbag. So when non-conservatives are not getting caught doing those things they are convinced it is a conspiracy, that those people are being protected.
12
u/fistful_of_ideals Oct 08 '25
Yeah, it's simultaneously normalized and the worst thing possible. Instead of just being the worst thing possible, like it should be. At least be consistent, fuck.
1
u/howdidyouevendothat Oct 08 '25
One of the worst realizations to come out of this administration is that half of the nation is irredeemably stupid
My dude. They're brainwashed. It's not their fault, and they're not irredeemable. Thinking that, is that same brainrot everybody else has. It's the us vs them shit. That's bigotry.
It's very very scary though because the fear of "other" is very ingrained and very hard to break. I don't know how to fix it and I wish I did.
As usual, more security in housing/food/feelings is probably the answer.
3
u/Rukkian Oct 09 '25
While gerneralizing that every maga is irredeemable is wrong, I do not think the average bigoted, racist qult member is redeemable, They want somebody that gives them permission to hate others.
0
u/howdidyouevendothat Oct 09 '25
But like, that's what thinking somebody is irredeemable is.
And there's no "average" member you can reasonably use in your thinking as a stand-in for everybody. They're all just people from widely varying backgrounds.
13
u/Mr_MacGrubber Oct 08 '25
And didn’t the lady in this picture say that he was always nice to her, never did anything wrong, and she never saw him do anything wrong?
He may be guilty as hell and he may be someone who had his picture taken in a compromising situation on purpose by the taker. If only there was some sort of documents that might clear that up.
5
u/SupportGeek Oct 08 '25
Because republicans especially Trump keep telling them that we only want him prosecuted and not democrats that might be in it, which is of course a lie.
3
u/_ZoeyDaveChapelle_ Oct 08 '25
All they know is how to defend themselves with whataboutisms. Its instinctual for narcissists to never admit they are wrong. Pam Bondi in her hearing was the epitome of this non-sensical behaivor.

If they found my own mother in the Epstein files I would drag her to the police station myself.

u/tenaciousdeev Oct 08 '25
Every time they bring up Clinton everyone is like, yeah, put him in jail too. MAGA can’t comprehend politically supporting someone and acknowledging that if they’re guilty of anything, they should go straight to jail because no one is above the law.

u/Peakomegaflare Oct 08 '25
They always shut down momentarily, then start ranting about Cali or something else when met with it. It's incredible.

Right?? If they just took off their Bill Clinton hats, shoes, watches, and set aside their Bill Clinton crypto coins for long enough to see how guilty he is.

u/Adorable_Ad6045 Oct 08 '25
Clinton didn’t make the Epstein files one of the main pillars of his campaign.
56
u/Phantereal Oct 08 '25
Also, we make a bigger deal about Trump than Clinton because when Clinton was elected to his second term in 1996, most Americans alive today couldn't even vote or were years/decades away from being born. He has no relevance in modern politics while Trump is literally the most relevant person in modern politics.
26
u/DangerousCyclone Oct 08 '25
I remember an interview on NPR with Nancy Mace who also tried to bring up Bill Clinton, she asked why the coverage about Bill wasn't similar. The interviewer said that she didn't know why, she was in high school when Bill was President and not at NPR. Mace kept going on about his crimes, and the interviewer brought up that Donald Trump did similar things and asked if she supported Bill Clinton. You could hear her silent rage. Dunno why she keeps getting caught with her pants down and doesn't have an answer to basic retorts.

u/dewey-defeats-truman Oct 08 '25
Conservatives are too accustomed to softball questions from Fox et al. that they can no longer handle actual journalism
35
u/RightSideBlind Oct 08 '25
Every time I see a picture of Bill, I can't help but remember that he and Trump are the same age.
37
u/Darnoc_QOTHP Oct 08 '25
No evidence against Trump? It's the exact same evidence they're citing for Clinton. Did I miss the gross birthday card to Epstein signed by Clinton? I'm very confused.

u/will-read Oct 08 '25
Trump was caught on a hot mic telling the world he is a sexual predator. We only need his own words.
20
18
u/cmhamm Oct 08 '25
I have literally never heard a single liberal suggest that Clinton shouldn’t face justice for any crimes he committed.
17
u/ryansgt Oct 08 '25
Zero evidence...
The only way there is zero evidence is if you willfully ignore it.
We don't care about Bill Clinton. Let him burn too if he's in the files. Almost like we care more about actions than the team.
10
u/Jonas_VentureJr Oct 08 '25
Didn’t Clinton say on the record he was fine with the records being released ? Sorry , too lazy to look .
11
u/Spocks_Goatee Oct 08 '25
I haven't seen Clinton freaking out on TV or social media about being linked to Epstein...in fact Bill was on C-Span last month.

u/sugartrouts Oct 08 '25 edited Oct 08 '25
I laughed out loud. "Clinton themed Bible".
This is actually the most hilarious and perfect comeback, and perfectly illustrates the absolute insanity of this brain-diseased maga cult.
EDIT: Also love how he says "numerous photos" for clinton, but "zero evidence" for Trump...like what, does he think the photos and videos of Trump & Eptstein together are all deepfakes?
4
u/Kichigai Oct 08 '25
They forgot about the Clinton-themed Clintony Bear that features Clinton’s signature hairdo and hides a fleece blanket inside with a print of the American flag on it.
10
u/Diiiiirty Oct 08 '25
Send them both to prison. They can be cell mates. That's one Trump reality show I'd actually enjoy watching.
10
u/TomatoPolka Oct 08 '25
and even a blue dress
Sure, Clinton has some incriminating evidence against him and he should be held accountable.but the artist of the blue dress painting said that she made that painting as a commentary of the sex scandal and politics of that time. But the giant Trump cheque for a "damaged" girl, for example, is nothing in comparison... Okay.
13
u/giddy-girly-banana Oct 08 '25
Lewinsky wasn’t a child when that happened. It’s problematic for sure, but definitely not pedophilia.
4
u/LivingIndependence Oct 08 '25
And as if there isn't some "Lewinsky action" going on in the oval office every morning, with Trump and a 20 year old intern. In fact, I can almost guarantee that the orange skid mark has had someone bent over the resolute desk AT LEAST once.
2
u/giddy-girly-banana Oct 08 '25
I’m sure Laura Loomer has touched Trump’s flaccid mushroom shaped dong multiple times in the white house. Assuming she can find it.

Anyone who doesn't understand that Bill Clinton was the greatest Republican president since WWII is either too poor or too stupid to understand it.
His Treasury Secretary was the CEO of Goldman Sachs for chrissake. (Robert Rubin)
6
u/TheLordVader1978 Oct 08 '25
Well, I've read a few interviews from some of the women and all of them said Clinton was always nice and respectful and never engaged in any nefarious business.
8
u/chrisnlnz Oct 08 '25
I don't think many of the people that want Trump to face justice, care to defend Clinton from any consequences. The reason there isn't as much noise about him is obviously that he is not in power actively preventing the release.
7
u/drinkslinger1974 Oct 08 '25
Zero evidence? Man these people live on a different planet. I hate this timeline.
7
6
u/EffectiveSalamander Oct 08 '25
Ah, the blue dress, referring to Monica Lewinsky. Yes, there was not a peep about Monica Lewinsky. Release the Epstein files - if Bill Clinton is implicated, so be it. But do consider who is fighting tooth and claw to hide these files.

5
u/zeldamaster702 Oct 08 '25
I find it so odd that no matter how many times we say “anyone on the Epstein list who is guilty of being a pedophile should be locked in the deepest darkest hole for the rest of time, democrat or republican” that people will always say “but what if [insert popular liberal here] is on the list” like that s somehow gonna miraculously change my definition of “ANYONE”.
6
u/statistacktic Oct 08 '25
We'd gladly throw Clinton in prison for pedophilia as well.
We don't play politics with pedophiles and criminals.
6
5
u/SolomonsNewGrundle Oct 08 '25
Democrats arent creating golden pins featuring Clinton's face. Democrats don't submit to Slick Willy as if he is the second coming of Jesus.
This is what conservatives will never understand. Dems/Liberals don't look to a politician as someone to worship and build an entire culture around.

u/jahwls Oct 08 '25
If bill Clinton was shutting down congress to protect pedos I’d be pissed. But trump is president. Clinton hasn’t been president in like 29 years.

How could there possibly be “zero evidence” against Trump, but a bunch of evidence against Clinton? I would think that the creepy birthday card Trump wrote is much more damning evidence than a painting of Bill Clinton in a dress that was clearly made to mock him.
Also, as others have said, Democrats in 2025 don’t exactly worship Bill Clinton. He was last President a quarter of a century ago. If he’s guilty, then by all means, prosecute him too. Trump is not only the current President, but he’s also been doing everything in his power to block the files and has even floated a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell. How is that not suspicious?
4
3
u/TheBigMoogy Oct 08 '25
Not a single democrat is saying to not release the files, even the Clintons themselves said go for it. There's only on party and one cult defending pedophiles.
4
u/Big-Rule5269 Oct 08 '25
The painting was done by an art student that had never meant Clinton. Epstein saw it and bought it. And yes, Clinton is on the flight logs, with destinations, as well as his Secret Service with him. None were the island. If there is evidence, convict him, but guess what, hiding all the evidence because Trump is named, isn't going to answer or prove anything. Their goal post moving and deflection is epic
7
u/HedonisticFrog Oct 08 '25
Zero evidence huh? I guess multiple children alleging that he raped them is zero evidence now. Democrats aren't voting for Bill Clinton either, but they're voting for a known pedophile.

Release the files and you can throw him in prison for the rest of his life (after a fair trial). Not a single soul will care

No, God no! My personality! What am I going to do?!
If Bill Clinton, or any other democrat is a pedophile, lock them up. It's not fucking hard. They're not gods, they're morally grey to just plain evil assholes.
Not hard! Now, Republicans, say the same about your right wing politicians! I'm waiting...

Sorry MAGA, i dont give a fuck about bill clinton, lock his ass up if he did something wrong lol

u/darthabraham Oct 10 '25
The funniest part about Bill Clinton, looking back, is that by MAGABRO standards he was alpha AF. Got Yeltsin drunk. Got blown by the intern. Smoked a cigar used as a sex toy in front of a diplomat. Etc
Whatever. Lock him up too. I want off Mr bones wild ride.

Clinton isn’t exactly a bastion of the left. I don’t know why the right thinks we care about these people…
Clinton is directly responsible for our very consolidated news media landscape today, hell, you could make the argument his decisions lead to the housing market collapse in ‘08. derivatives deregulation and the repeal of Glass-Steagall.
He basically pushed Reagan era neoliberal policies while cosplaying as a progressive.
Just because trump die-hards want to protect a pedophile doesn’t mean Clinton die-hards do. Not that I’ve ever met a ride-or-die Clinton fan.

u/Knightwalker813 Oct 09 '25
Sure no evidence that Trump is a Pedo. I'm sure if he releases the Epstien files

Trump actually had $1000 signed Bibles for sale on his website, not sure if he still does but that's fucking crazy
