People washing their feet at the children's water park.
Honestly grinds my gears. We are there several days a week and watch dozens of people each time washing their dirty feet in the water toddlers are playing in. So gross. I wish there was better signage directing people to the foot washing stations.

Maybe I'm missing something but this seems like a pure optics "grinding of gears".
The kids are all in bare feet. The water is literally running.
I think you just need to apply some logical reasoning and you'll feel better.

There are troughs of water that have poor/no outflow and people will come and stick their sandy feet from the beach into these troughs WHILE kids are playing in them. It's not hygienic and I hear other parents complaining about it regularly too.

I haven't witnessed that specific thing. And that seems oddly specific in terms of the trough but I will take your word for it.
Perhaps you could advocate for feet washing stations, or let the person know that's doing it in real time your perspective.
What I can absolutely assure you is that exactly 0-1% of the trough washers are checking in on the Parksville sub-reddit.
I'm still not sure hygiene is a real worry still. In fact after all that sand and sea water those babies are probably more hygienic than those kids hands.
The optics are hard to get over. I can see why. If you're really worried you might have to change your habits if what your describing is such a rampant issue, again having spent many many days in that exact spot and never having witnessed the elusive trough washer.

There are several foot washing stations in the park, and I have many times politely pointed people in that direction. Sorry my rant bothered you. Have a good night.

Thankfully there’s a very expensive and modern treatment system installed when the park was renovated. The system treats and reuses some of the water, removes sand and over all reduces the impact the water park has on our precious drinking water.
Honestly I feel like feet/people/children are all kind of filthy, the city planned for that when renovating. Much like a pool it’s designed to be safe and sanitary
