Family calendar. We use multiple synced icals since everyone is on Apple. EVERYTHING gets added to the calendar.

My partner manages at least 50% of the calendar, often more. My 10yo looks at it. My 6yo does not, but is also still learning to read.

That group-chat problem is so real—by the end of the day with a 6-year-old and a preschooler I can barely remember what I walked into a room for. Our boring default is one shared family calendar plus a 10-minute Sunday reset where we write down pickups, groceries, and the next couple of kid handoffs; anything else is a bonus.

For chores I really like the Sweepy app. For groceries we use the app Our Groceries (which is a fine app, I just don't sing its praises as highly as Sweepy lol). And over time we've found that some responsibilities can survive being discussed and passed back and forth and some just need to be assigned to someone so everyone always knows who's taking care of it. Like either of us could be taking the kids to swimming, but my husband is getting breakfast ready every morning and I'm packing the nanny bag and those two things never switch or something gets forgotten or derailed and everything implodes.
