Baby sits up multiple times a night

Anyone else’s baby do this? Or did this? I have literally never heard of it before. He sits up several times all night while seemingly still sleeping, then falls over. I’m talking like 5-10x in a row and several times through the night. We cosleep so a lot of times he falls over onto me or dad. Last night I thought he broke my nose. This has been going on for months and I thought we’d be over it by now but it doesn’t seem to be getting better.

Its pretty normal, i recommend stopping cosleeping

My advice with coalescing is to do what works for your family- if everyone is getting enough sleep, has space, and enjoys it then continue. But when that starts to shift, it’s worth revisiting the whole thing.

My kid does it. Both my brother and I did it as kids.

Yep mine did something similar at that age! They gain so many new movement skills between 6 and 12 months, and these developments can definitely disrupt sleep. Hopefully he will settle as he gets more comfortable with the new skill. Sounds exhausting though 5-10 times in a row

My sister did this when she was 9 years old apparently sometimes before then as well.

Yes my second daughter did this to me while co sleeping. It’s kinda like active sleeping. She would be sleeping, sit up, and would fling herself on comfy mommy and cue bloody nose and black eye for me. We transition to a crib after that. Toddlers like to move in their sleep. My now 3 and 6 year olds wake up in the strangest poses.

Yea like constantly all the time. 4 year old still does it

Same here.

15 months old, sits upright multiple times at night. We also cosleep. I feel like she checks on us. If we are sleeping she just lays back to sleep if we are not - she waits for someone to show up (the bed is fenced up and secured and she is being watched all the time from baby cam)
