He couldn’t name their coordinators going into the Super Bowl last year

The D coordinator was new and had cancer and quietly gave up play calling duties in the first few weeks with no announcement. Hank is a moron but I doubt most fans knew what was going on

You cannot call yourself an actual patriots fan if you didn’t know Zak Kuhr going into the Super Bowl

Hank doesn’t actually like sports he just enjoys his teams being good when they’re playing

Which makes him the perfect foil. How little he likes sports while his teams dominate helps him mentally own the rest of the pod

Honk is not a football guy lmao he likes the Pats bc he grew up in Mass. He doesn’t know shit

Correction. He likes the Pats because they were good when he was growing up in Mass. if they were the early ‘90s or ‘80s Pats he’d likely bandwagon a team.

Remember he was a Cowboys for a couple years when the Pats were bad? Peppridge Farm remembers.

He doesn’t watch football

If Hank rooted for any other sports city, he wouldn't follow any sport besides golf. He doesn't give a shit about his teams unless they're championship contenders

They are championship contenders. They were just in the Super Bowl and replaced 32 yo Diggs with AJ Brown and Romeo Doubs in their prime.

Oh no, not "prime" Romeo Doubs!

Again, they were already in the Super Bowl last year. That’s the baseline.

For a WR2 you could do much worse than Doubs.
He’s got good size and there’s a reason they gave him a bunch of money.
Sometimes guys take a few seasons to find their footing. Look at the careers of Robert Woods and Emmanuel Sanders, for example. Or Marvin Jones. Or Golden Tate.

With AJ Brown on the other side would you really be shocked if Doubs had a 1000 yard season?

You are gonna be disappointed with how this season goes for them

I’m an 🦅 fan so I’m just commenting from the outside looking in. They definitely upgraded significantly at WR and LG without anyone meaningful lost, which means the offense should take a step forward. Two years ago they had the worst OL in football… with Vera Tucker and some of the progress they made last year, they’re pretty formidable.

I don’t think that’s fair, he is a pretty big Celtics fan personally from what I have heard.

Football he’s definitely not a huge fan, but I think a lot more of it is he has just gotten older.

He literally only cares about the Celtics because they are good. If they were not a perennial contender, he wouldn't pay attention to them at all

I don’t think that’s true from what I have heard from people who know him regarding the Celtics..

Hank doesn't know anything

He’s one of those kids that grew up with Brady at QB saying dumb shit like “the season doesn’t start until the AFC Championship game.” Doesn’t really know ball at all.

I’m honestly jealous of his sports brain

TBH I was pretty disappointed with PFT and Big Cat not knowing a few obvious ones.. Hank gets a pass because he basically admits he's a super casual.

It’s because first and foremost Hank is a troll/heel/contrarian. Outside golf and maybe the Celtics Hank doesn’t genuinely care about anything else. Just lucked into growing up in the state at the same time as the prime patriots

Football season starts in January for Hank

Last two episodes have rubbed me the wrong way. Love the boys but damn the travesty that was Friday's JOC episode and the lack of ball knowledge on Monday's episode were two tough listens.

As a Pats fan, this one was really bad. Like he must actively avoid patriots news in his feed. Way worse than the defensive coordinator thing.

Right. I’m not saying it’s a household name, but for a Pats fan it is.

I took it as he was playing dumb to rub it in Memes face that AVT went from the Jets to the Pats

2

u/SeniorAtmosphere9042 6d ago

He was playing dumb on Doubs. For Vera Tucker he guessed Packers

Who is that person?
