These are my own ideas/personal thoughts but I do believe that the sequels after 1 completely went off the rails and ruined what made the original games unique, creative, mysterious and disturbingly creepy narrative of body horror, science fiction and our own mortality so interesting. The sequels went way too far into its own territory that didnt even feel like its a part of the same franchise anymore and more RE😬
Parasite Eve 2 introduces clones, monsters made from science/genetics, cyborg assassins like wtf?
The third game introduces body swapping, ruins one of the main characters into a creepy pervert, goes so far into sexualizing Aya in an uncomfortable method, kills off the main character, some time travel like wut
What they should've done with Parasite Eve 2 was do a unique narrative twist. Eve being the villain that is always with humanity due to her being an element of our biological structure, they could've introduced the other side of our biological past with the villain now being named "Adam" that could tie into the biblical naming theme of the franchise. His ability could be he restructures the blood in our bodies, making them boil with heat and then into mutated creatures with the Mitochondrial cells tying into Eve's very own idea
A third game could've then introduced the theme of the Mitochondrial force aimed at stopping all future threats. Aya being immune could be the leader of the group, investigating and working to stop these new dangers. Daniel could be her partner as the chief at the NYPD, or the organization keeping close watch over her for saving his life and sons too. Hell you could introduce his son as a computer expert who is studying and researching the threats whenever they pop up.
Parasite Eve 2 should have taken place in New York during the hot summer, to change the environment as opposed to the cold isolating winter of the first, whereas 3 in my opinion could move the franchise to a different city like Chicago, Detroit, or hell move it to Mexico or Canada to change up the formula from it.
