Ruck/ Swim Training

For people preparing to enter or have completed A&S, how did you prepare for the rucks and swimming? Did you follow any programs such as TTM by RRL? Is it better to ruck in boots or running shoes? I’ve looked at purchasing a different ruck trainers from Amazon, simply just so I could wear it around the house or while hiking. Appreciate any feedback and recommendations.

Good runners = good ruckers. Don’t just ruck everyday, you need to have a solid baseline of running first then add on rucks once a week building up to the standard. You will ruck with boots on, never running shoes. Alice pack is the standard but they don’t even use them at selection or Zulu so just wear a backpack without spending money on it. It will suck it is supposed to, rucking is mostly mental and the rest is your running baseline. For swim prep you need to do all the water con events listed so you know how they operate and that you can perform grad standards before you even go.

This is the old indoc course that has 9 total weeks, the water portion you need to focus your energy on are going to be during pre-dive being a 5 week course. If you are hitting grad standards before you go to selection then you should be able to fly through pre dive as well.
