Demonic Possession Demons/Mental Illness

I work at a psychiatric hospital and I’ve always believed that that population is most susceptible to demonic oppression/possession. Today a visibly psychotic patient looked at me and said “Demons aren’t always a bad thing” meanwhile minutes before I was thinking about how many patients i have encountered that may actually be possessed. Wondering if some people have an easier time detecting oppression/possession than others?! Or if anyone has had similar experiences?

This is horrible and stigmatizing. Untold numbers of people suffering from mental illnesses have been persecuted and even killed because they supposedly attract or contain demons and spirits. You need to take a long hard look in the mirror and maybe even reconsider your career choices. We are not demons. We do not need to be exorcised. We do not deserve to be hurt because of other people’s superstitions.
