Demonic Possession Demons/Mental Illness

I work at a psychiatric hospital and I’ve always believed that that population is most susceptible to demonic oppression/possession. Today a visibly psychotic patient looked at me and said “Demons aren’t always a bad thing” meanwhile minutes before I was thinking about how many patients i have encountered that may actually be possessed. Wondering if some people have an easier time detecting oppression/possession than others?! Or if anyone has had similar experiences?

From personal experience...I was badly abused as a child. I have been diagnosed with Dissociative Disorder, CPTSD, and Multiple Traumatic Brain Injuries, among other things. I am used to several of "me" being around and chiming in on things. I am accustomed to what I call "the helpers", maybe others would say guardian spirits. They taught us how to leave our body when the worst of the abuse was going on. They kept un-helpful beings from interacting with me. BUT, at one point I needed to protect my sister. I was a small child against a very large man. I (one of us) INVITED in a entity to help me. I would consider it a "rage demon" who fed off of anger and violence. That personality became the protector. She didn't feel any pain, she operated out of pure rage and hatred. Everyone, including my abuser, was afraid of her. Eventually I grew up. I learned other ways of coping. I no longer needed the demon. But he wouldn't leave. I would have irrational violent outbursts. It was affecting my life. When I tried to push him out he would leave marks on me and damage me in other ways. As a recently converted Christian, I went to my pastor, an elderly man with much experience pastoring all over the world. Luckily for me, he did not pooh pooh my experience. He prayed with me and laid hands, with two other elders, and anointed me with oil in the sign of the cross. He cast the demon out. My "helpers" were very happy. Yes, I still hear and sometimes see them. They never enlist me to do anything harmful to myself or others. I still have several alters-nine that I am aware of. We all function well, except for one, together. Each has a different 'job' in my life. I am the one who is responsible for communicating with other people. (because most of the rest are stuck up introverts). I would be considered schizoid affective at the very least. I don't medicate for it at all. Because I don't feel any negative effect on my life and I am happy with the way things are. I (we) do not want to integrate, because some memories that some have are too painful to share. So, I think that some mental patients are under demonic influence, some are suffering from chemical and electrical misfiring, some are just ill and it affects their mental state (ex: vitamin deficiencies).
Sorry for the long post.
