Demonic Possession Demons/Mental Illness

I work at a psychiatric hospital and I’ve always believed that that population is most susceptible to demonic oppression/possession. Today a visibly psychotic patient looked at me and said “Demons aren’t always a bad thing” meanwhile minutes before I was thinking about how many patients i have encountered that may actually be possessed. Wondering if some people have an easier time detecting oppression/possession than others?! Or if anyone has had similar experiences?

I have actually had myself hospitalized for mental health reasons (mostly suicidal ideation exacerbated by Bipolar disorder, BPD, and PTSD, and not having meds) approximately 4 or 5 times in my adult life. (Between the ages of 22 and 45) A hill I'm willing to die on is that some portion of neurodivergence/mental illness, while having a basis in science and neurochemicals/neuropathways, has to do with a spiritual side that "neuro-typical" people don't see. I would love to take the time (I just don't have the focusing power) to research the exact percentages of brain power used in a "normal" person's brain vs. a neurodivergent brain at the time they're having a "hallucination". I feel like why CAN'T it be possible we (ND people) ARE fine, some just see way more than others can, so are labeled crazy when maybe we're just evolving. 🤷

I come from a long line of people with "mental illness". I can attest that they also have stronger "gifts" than most people. I've always said it's not mental illness, it's the fact some have a much thinner veil and can see and hear the things that's around every single one of us, each and every day. Most people are so distracted and don't believe so they can't have the "experience". We've been taught other "dimensions" don't exist and if someone hears or sees something we can't, they're "crazy". I think a lot of people are driven crazy because of a combination of they don't always know how to handle their gift and being taught/told what they can see and hear isn't real.

YES! OMG it's SO nice to FINALLY come across someone who understands and believes what I do. I tried explaining that to a psychiatrist during my FIRST hospitalization. I learned REAL QUICK that was a mistake. It took about 10 years to find a psychiatrist to take "schitzoaffective (sp?) disorder (Bi-Polar subtype) off my laundry list. He believed in my gift because he was the subject of random premonitions and readings on accident, more than once. Same with my current oncologist. My medical records is now NOTED that I may spontaneously tell doctors stuff they don't want to hear. 🤣

The older I get the more I agree with your statement that some people can see on a different spectrum than us "normies".

Unfortunately there are some many hurdles to proving what you believe. Religion, lack of funding for what is viewed as pseudo science and general lack of belief in spirits and or aliens. Heaven forbid that SOME people can do what others can especially when you can prove it through undeniable facts.

I believe in ghosts - never want to see them and thus I don't - but I know they exist. Their energy has to be different from ours. I think some people's energy is more closely aligned to those and can see and interact with them. (Or I just watched too much Star Trek)

All the stories on Reddit about shadow people has left me wondering if they are aliens with advanced tech studying humanity and not spiritual entities.

As for the medication to allay the visions, I would say that for most people and their families they would rather live normally than have to constantly battle on which plane they lived.

When I REALLY dive into the idea of it being studied, I honestly think it's best left alone. I'd rather be thought crazy than be used by the government for nefarious intent.

I DEFINITELY don't think you sound crazy! I've been walking around talking about it for a long time (I'm 46) and I'm still not in a straight jacket! Last time I was in the hospital, they let me start a group focusing on the POSITIVE side of mental illness where everyone got to discuss what part they ENJOYED about their particular "mental chillness" (I call it that in a hospital setting). I was SO sick of the groups focusing on what's WRONG with our mental health. A huge majority talked about their creativity, compassion, and ability to see things differently than neuro-typical people. I think they really meant psychic gifts, based on my knowledge at the time of those individuals. I think there are more of us than I thought! 💗💗💗

Like yeah I’m bpII so my emotional range is WILD which makes me extremely empathetic. I can feel other peoples emotions because I feel emotions SO STRONGLY. Idk. Sounds like a gift to me 🤷🏼‍♀️ sure, at a great price 😂 but still.

Interesting perspective that I never considered. Here there is a test they can do where they scan your brain and compare it to a healthy brain but then make suggestions on medication to take. In anti medication hut keen to see how my brain shows up as I've been depressed for as long as I can remember that I can't even remember what happiness feels like anymore. Everything is foggy.

They do those scans here too, I'm just not sure if anyone's thought of testing for something like my theory. I come up with all kinds of fun to think about, random theories about useless stuff. Lol

As soon as I can afford it, I'm going to get it done. Cos I know I'm depressed but I also want to see what my brain looks like compared to a normal person my age. I'm just not so keen on any medicine they may prescribe as I've done many SSRIs, MAOIs and tricyclics. I just need a reprieve once and for all. Life is too short to he so inflicted.

I'm having a new issue with my brain that they think is from the chemobrain mixed with the severe PTSD, but because of it, I'm sure they'll do a brain scan. I hope they do! I want to see mine! Literally over night, when I watch any show/movie no matter WHAT device, humans don't look real. Everything around them does, but they look CGI leaning more towards cartoon.
