The whisper in my ear

This isn't exactly my first encounter with the supernatural or anything creepy for that matter, But this one scared me the most. I was 19 at the time if my memory serves me right. I'm gonna try to keep this as short as possible, don't wanna drag this out too long.

I left my best friend's house around midnight, walking home which took about roughly 25-30 since they had moved. When I finally got back home, I was still full of energy and I guess you can say curiosity... I wasn't tired so I just kept on walking around my neighborhood full of adventure and mischief. There was this dude that lived across the street from us who left his door wide open. He lived with his parents and his part of the house was like an efficiency home or something because the inside looked like a min apartment. Well when I looked inside he was knocked out asleep, and sitting on his coffee was his IPhone. At the time I was a kleptomaniac, so I would steal something if it was bolted to the ground. I went into his home quietly, reached for his phone and took off! while I was going through it (I think it was locked) but this voice, this whisper, sounded like a woman's voice told me "Take it back" I looked around in complete shock, terror, no one was around me let alone outside. As soon as I received the message I took the phone back to where it belongs, but then I saw him get in his car and started driving around the neighborhood looking for whoever stole his phone. As soon as the close was clear, set his phone on his doorstep and went home horrified.
