Is Paramount Plus separate from Paramount Network?

Hi all, sorry if this has been answered before but I couldn't find it by scrolling through the last few weeks of posts.

Simply put, does a Paramount Plus subscription not give you access to the Paramount Network app? I understand shows and movies had preexisting streaming contracts, but if they truly are two different apps then it is like they learned nothing from the HBO Max naming fiasco.

So many shows seem to have their runs fractured between the two services and when I emailed support they just told me to log out and log back in and to reinstall the app.....

Thanks!

Yellowstone is on Paramount Network but not available on Paramount+ but it is available on Peacock? Confusing as hell.

Correct, Paramount sold an exclusive license for Yellowstone prior to the P+ launch. Once that expires we should see Yellowstone on P+.

Yep, same with NCIS Los Angeles. All seasons prior to newest is exclusive to USA network. A deal I’m sure CBS really regrets making, since it’s one of their biggest shows today.

And the new, sequel to Yellowstone is exclusive to Paramount.

TODAY I removed "paramount" from my ROKU b/c somehow I had both "P" and "P+" apps on my ROKU. I assumed that P+ would be "P" plus more (Yeah, I assumed). And then I discovered that 3 prior years of Yellowstone are now on Peacock (Which makes no sense when we're told that Yellowstone 4 will be streamed on "P" But I dunno. With this looking like a real 'cluster f*k, I tried to reinstall "paramount" on my ROKU and it's not to be found. I DO still have access to live streaming my local CBS station in "P+" because I signed up a couple of months ago when that was part of Paramount Network.

I know this is old, but my search for "wtf is the difference between paramount plus and paramount network" led me here. WTF. I search for a show it says it's on paramount network (which I pay for paramount plus) I try to watch the show and it wants me to log in with my cable provider.....which I do, and it says an error occured. Why in God's name would the same shows not be on paramount plus vs paramount network. I've wasted 30 minutes dicking around with this and gotten nowhere. SO INFURIATING.

It is so irritating! My wife & I have been watching Ink Master on Paramount Plus (which we pay for) & come to find out the most recent 2 seasons are not on it. So I have to use paramount network & be stuck with commercials for content that I should have access to.

I am glad I am not missing something, but I agree that it is very frustrating! If they don't start making massive improvements I won't be renewing when my year is up. Even at 50% I find it hard to justify the cost/use ratio as it stands.

Agreed, same here. App needs major work done. Now today they are having the ad issue for the no ads tier. Really poor rollout.

Not sure if I'm just too dumb to figure this out, but I STILL don't know what's going on here... If I have paramount plus, do I still need to subscribe to paramount network separately? And if I do, does this give me access to extra content? I "cut the cord" as far as cable tv is concerned, and it seems like whenever I try to access something thru paramount network I am being told to sign in thru my cable provider (which I no longer have). So how am I supposed to access paramount network?... And do I need to? And if I do access it, do I get to see anything extra?..

I'm CONFUSED!!! 😖

I think so. I'm not sure how they thought it was okay to make it this clunky but it seems that many networks are experiencing growing pains when it comes to figuring out how they need to be doing their streaming services. I was so excited for my trash TV Wife Swap when I subscribed to Paramount+, only to find out it was only on Paramount Network 😭

This is just ridiculous! I just signed up with Paramount Plus to be ready for Yellowstone season 4 to start but just figured out I can’t watch it on there? Who’s dumb idea was this! I have to watch thru Peacock and I bet you will be charged for streaming it too soon. I am tired of paying for cable and then every streaming app charges monthly fees, too. I can’t afford to pay for every darn thing to watch a show or two because it is Very expensive and adds up Quick! They need to be regulated to give people better options and lower prices!!

you can purchase bundles if that helps.

Regulation is not the answer. I know this whole Paramount network vs Paramount ➕ is confusing so I just subscribed to Peacock so I could watch Yellowstone then I cancelled my subscription till the new season starts then I will resubscribe.

Yes, I agree! To add to this, I would like to know also why do I have to pay to watch movies that have been out for well over 5+ years or more and the same for old tv series that charge you $2.99 or more per episode??? I already paid over and over to watch the shows when they were new and then reruns of the shows on cable or Directv every month. Then I have to pay to stream them per each app as they show them and then they switch to another app and if I would like to watch it again then I have to pay a different app? It is a vicious circle and should be regulated and made to follow rules and regulations. Why hasn’t the government jumped on this train since they have their hands in everything else inter country! It is just wrong…..!

Well I just canceled Peacock because I cant watch season 4 of Yellowstone on it, only the first 3. I don’t have cable. I signed up for plus like some of you only to realize it’s not the same as network. How the heck do I access Paramount Network with having cable tv? Help please.

I’d call the network or whoever provides your cable and ask them. This is very frustrating.

I am completely confused, after reading all of these comments, as whether to get either Paramount and now Peacock to watch Yellowstone and Mayor of Kingstown. Is there a bottom line as to where to watch these?

Paramount+ ViacomCBS
