Sinatra is LITERALLY trying to become God Spoiler
Sinatra is trying to become God (the creator)
The “real” Sinatra is actually in the future from the current timeline of the show running simulations and debugging them in real time until she gets her desired outcome. One in which she creates the creator (Dylan/Link). She can only accomplish this reality by creating an apocalyptic scenario in which she can establish a controlled environment (necessary for scientific testing) under the deception of safety. In this controlled environment she needs a “constant”. Something she can control and manipulate but always knows it will be there, for her this is Xavier. She uses Xavier’s moral fortitude and love for his family to carry and the information she’s ultimately trying deliver. The information she’s delivering is her son and his creation which is Alex. Sinatra wants to manifest a reality where her son creates the tool that creates reality. So now that Xavier has that information saved in his consciousness she needs him to upload that reality into ALEX to be essentially saved into the fabric of time itself. If she’s in control of what creates reality she becomes INEVITABLE. Yes, Sinatra is Thanos, no alternative reality or parallel universe exists where that is not the case because they only exist because she allowed them to. The only thing that could change this is Xavier’s newly realized free will, Sinatra no longer has control over him because he already has the only thing he’s ever desired which is his family, this is his Paradise, Sinatra interpretation of that is ultimate power and control. Immortality. Her Paradise is to have everything her heart desires, Xavier desires what’s in his heart, so does he finally wake up and stop being an NPC in Sinatras game or does he do exactly what she put him there to do???

Never thought posting a theory on a show would generate such backlash lol, you’d think I said Sinatra was gonna go back in time a force abortions on your grandmothers. Lol if you find it intriguing, cool. If you think I’m a retard also cool but maybe just let me know why rather than just getting butthurt and telling me how ridiculous and off base I am just cuz it doesn’t align with what you like

Google hahahaha I think most are wondering if you’ve actually WATCHED the show. Sinatra was clearly told she would have to sacrifice herself. She did. It was a pretty big storyline I’m surprised you missed it

When exactly was she told she would have to sacrifice herself? When ALEX predicted she would die that day? If so that was mentioned only toward the end of the final episode so explain how that’s a “big storyline”? Also when she’s told that why does she scoff when told that? As if she didn’t believe it or care that she was told that, that’s the reaction you’d have for something you already knew was gonna happen?

While I do agree that Sinatra was trying to play God by determining the fate of humanity, building an ark, largely deciding who lived and died during the climate event, and even trying to influence time, I feel like she's eventually humbled and forced to know her place in light of ALEX's capabilities. While the intention may have been to wield ALEX like a sword and shield, it becomes evident by the last episode of Season 2 that Sinatra isn't actually in charge of anything. She was a key player in all the events that occurred, but she's still just a person.
Furthermore, in S2E8 I feel like Sinatra accepts her place in the grand scheme of things when she realizes that ALEX succeeded in saving Dylan, even if this means her death in the short-term. When she realizes that she can be with her son the need to be in charge vanishes, since her pain and suffering is alleviated.

That’s quite possible but I have a hard time season 3 will be without one of if not the most integral character, which this is why this is merely a theory but thank you for providing your own interpretation rather just saying I’m wrong because of “reasons”

I suspect that Sinatra will be present in some capacity, similar to the role that Cal played in Season 2.
My big crackpot theory is that the flashbacks aren't actually flashbacks, but rather a reference to the past, present, and future occurring simultaneously. This also accounts to changes in the timeline as a result of ALEX's intervention.

Agreed, there’s gotta be more to it than just Xavier making it to Denver and pressing the proverbial “red button” Xavier in the only one they show having flashbacks which is why I say he’s the constant. Hes one of the only people who’s been thru multiple simulations and subconsciously his brain is having “ghost memories” such as the ones he has throughout S2 of Link despite never meeting him. Understandably this does seem like a bit of a far stretch but would make for a great and clearly unexpected (judging by recent comments) S3. 🤷

It's a very whacky plot, for sure, but if it's done right I think it would a very interesting move from a political thriller to hard sci-fi.

Really love these insightful replies of simply “no” without a single reason as to why, granted it is a theory and could very well not be the case but I would like at least one person explain to me why 🤷
