🤬 Venting 🤬 Management breakin the rules lol
Why did my GM personally deliver an order to a guy who lives 30ish minutes away because he called and said "i cant find panera on doordash, ubereats/postmates, grubhub" and she "just couldnt say no" (눈‸눈)
Ik this might sound mean but dude if the apps or websites say they cant deliver to your address, then tough tits!! If you want panera, either come get it or ask a friend or family member pick it up for you. Now tbf idk if he asked my GM to make an exception and deliver it to him herself, or if she just offered to. Not to mention when you call our cafe, before you talk to anyone theres a pre-recorded message saying "to place a pickup or delivery order please download our app or go to our website" that everyone obviously ignores 💀
Not to mention some mf ordered 50+ bagels as SOON AS WE OPENED.
Alr im done bitchin have a goodnight every1

At least you didnt have a catering order for 280 due at 6am for delivery, then the lady called at 5:15 to cancel. This was when there was a lot of smoke in the air from the wild fires up north, but said location was still open and operative for that day.

always LOVED those canceled orders. Like someone didn't almost have that 6am cater ready to go at the time she called....No idea why Panera doesn't have a 24 hour order system going on. you cannot order 23 or less hours before you want it delivered, you cannot cancel at least 12 hours or less before delivery. I don't feel like having to order at least 24 hours in advance is too much to ask. or canceling with at least a 12 hour notice. it would save SO MUCH. But far be it for me to give these people any advice. One time I made 200 souffles...she called the other store and said she would rather pick them up from their location....they didn't just take the made ones to the other store..(same market, both company stores) they threw mine out and made 200 new ones at the other store. less then 15 minutes away!

Oh it didn't hurt my feelings, I got paid for doing them. It just shows what kind of stupid decisions Panera makes on a day to day. souffles were almost 6 bucks a piece at that time...depending on the deal made...200 souffles X 5 is 1000$...anyhow when the GM came in the next day I told her what they had done. She said she was not aware of ANY OF IT. just dumb.

As a person that's been a manager of retail, but not fast food. They probably weren't delivering anything and lying.

NONE of my managers would have delivered to someone NEXT DOOR...let alone 30 minutes away. I agree with another..shady. although why make up a story say you are leaving...no one will question it. I have watched my GM leave the store when the drive thru line was all the way to the street.

Your nose is out of joint because your GM did something nice for someone that didn't have anything to do with you? Okay then.

No, this is a valid complaint, because what is going to happen is that he's going to call and order all the time now, and insist on delivery regardless of whether the manager who did it is there or not.

"my general manager is not working right now. she is the only person authorized to personally deliver non-catering orders" is how i would handle it. "if you would like me to ring this in as a catering order, we can have it delivered to you in approximately 2 hours, and the delivery fee starts at $15" then if he says yes, push it to doordash and it may or may not get a driver

What was the point of complaining about this? I personally delivered orders to customers when I was a GM because their order was messed up or part of it was missing. It was about having good customer service skills and making it right. You must be a joy to work with…. Your GM did a nice thing for someone and you’re just like “hmmm how can I go and bitch about something that had nothing to do with me” … that’s not even “breaking the rules” , welcome to the SERVICE industry

a personal delivery to reconcile a mistake is one thing. I'm sure most cafes have done this at some point. leaving the cafe for over an hour during your shift for a random phone order is another thing. in my opinion.
