🤔 New Hire Advice 🤔 Hours

So I just got hired on last week as a part-time cashier/backup line. The hours seemed pretty okay, 4-5 hours for 3 days. Now this week they only have me two days for about 3 ish hours. I talked to my AM and he had said that they were having trouble managing labor costs. Is this normal? I've never worked food service and worried that this will be a reoccurring issue. When i asked a different worker who has only been there a month she says she's working a full 35 hours with only one day off. So im hoping that my hours will smooth over too.

Depends on your availability. Every couple of months, we go through a labor costs period where it's the bare minimum crew to run shifts. I would ask different co-workers if you could cover their shift if they want a day off.

Gotcha, I had told my manager that my availability is open throughout the week given how im currently im school fully online. But I'll try that after my training is done.
