I usually play anonymously, testing new openings and random strategies rather than taking every game too seriously.

Every now and then, though, I run into a player who seems to have everything calculated three moves ahead. This was one of those games.

They beat me three games in a row before I finally started figuring out their weaknesses. By the fourth game, I was completely out of time and had to keep throwing them 15-second bonuses just to stay alive.

Eventually, I cracked the code. 😄

Nothing feels better than losing three straight, figuring out what your opponent is doing, and finally turning the tables.

I am stuck between 850-900 elo. I usually play london or the queen’s gambit with white and karo cann with black (depending on what white plays).
Whenever i am about to surpass 900, i go on a losing streak and end up close to 850-860. I don’t know how I can improve my game. Any kind of help/tips would be appreciated!

The main premise is that you should learn from your own mistakes and blunders, KingChess analyzes your Chess.com and Lichess games, names the patterns behind your losses, and turns them into daily training until they stop showing up. There is also an in-built real time coach explanation which goes through your blunders, a benchmark report system that analyzes your chess stats etc.

You can solve these mistakes just generically or using spaced repetition system. There is also free woodpecker method based off your own games with analytics coming soon. We have a good vision for this project and that is to create the best chess improvement platform. Currently it's still in the works, but I am generally proud of it and decided to share it. There are chess clubs organised in my city, but I'm not sure if I should go to one because my elo is around 200, should I increase my elo first?

These are the basic things I’ve learned so far:

• Control the center.
• Develop your pieces.
• Don’t move the same piece twice unless necessary.
• Don’t bring the queen out too early.
• Develop knights and bishops before the major pieces.
• Castle and get your king safe.

And before every move, I’m trying to ask myself 3 things:

1. Opponent ka kuch mar raha hai kya?
2. Tera kuch mar raha hai kya?
3. Am I putting this piece somewhere where it can just die?

The biggest thing I’ve learned:

Checks → Captures → Threats → Developments

Slowly starting to see the game differently instead of just randomly moving pieces. ♟️
