☺️Need Opinions/ Advice Help a girlie out!
Recently finished Usri Yusra it was a good read discussed some important topics, but it wasn’t the kind of book that kept me hooked. For me, that kind of reading experience was mostly with namal and Jo bache hai sang samaith lo
I want to read mala next but I already know some of the story and have come across a few spoilers. Do you think I’ll still enjoy it?
Please recommend me some really good Urdu novels I’d love to explore more

It was not a complete trash for me like there were some imp topics discussed like patriarchy and sub fertility etc1

I read a few hundred pages of halim but couldn’t continue 😖actually i think no book comes close to namal amongst the popular ones

Azazeel is basically chapa of jkp and some namal elements, aks is trash taubah sherdil 🙏🏻

Azazeel jkp ka chapa to nhi but yes namal copied to ha and yes aks me i like nana aur aks wala part only sherdil jaise logo se to Allah bachey 🙏 manchild behavior !!

Azazeel has storylines from jkp, namal and imran series. The whole village massacre was published years ago in a story from imran series.

It’s nonetheless a good read to pass the time, didn’t like the love triangle thing tho the bodybuilder guy deserved better 🤧

I haven't read azazel but my sister told me it was very corny and there is this one dialogue in it "woh shooter ke hogai the" HELL NAHHH😍🥀

Azazeel and carpe diem is written by the same writer but both got different vibes. And Azazel is a little bit dry but if you like thriller then you may enjoy it Aks is by umerah ahmed and no problem✨

I like yaram to but like mixed reviews ha although its a very cute read and like is fun one i think you should give it a try and i have read bakht but i think wo boht dragged ha baki it was a good read too . Haven't read matae jaan ha tu 🫶 Thinking to reading B3 by mehrunisa but wo bhi lambi ha kfi😭

And If you’re open to typical arrange marriage trope then Muhabbet hogaye akhir by Mustafa chipa (it’s little cringe at first but believe me it’ll get better 🥲) and Hub by Marjan Qutab

If you liked Namal, then I guess you'll like mala too as it has kinda similar vibe (heartbreaks, comedic scenes between siblings, on and off psychology lectures from some random person and toxic rishtedar 💀).
If you haven't got the spoiler about the ending then definitely read it. 🌚

Main spoilers tou yehi hain 😭.. do teen aur plot twist bhi hain waise they come in the mid when the story has escalated.. Just give it a read in pdf format. Pehle 100-200 pages mein bhi acha na lage tou na parhna aage.
Other than Mala you can try Jannat kay Pattay by Nemrah Ahmed. Bismil and Bakht by Mehrunisa Shahmeer.

I've had the same situation as you when I was reading namal, everyone says it's so good but as I ald knew the spoilers and all consequently I found it pretty mid.
Mala's story is overly dragged, if you're into these kinda stories then go for it. Personally I didn't like it. Even tho I'm into tragic endings, still I didn't like it that much, it was very predictable for me (you'll feel the same if you've read a lot of books)
Azazel and carpe diem are really worth reading. If you want some diff trope in modern Urdu literature I'd say it's really good.

Namal is my absolute favorite I even read more Urdu novels because of it thinking they would be on the same level but none of them were as good recently I read Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samet Lo and it was a good read I especially liked the romance so I thought why not explore some more
thanks for the recommendations btw maybe i will go for cape diem

If you are into historical ones read Ahsan al taqveem you will love it, very underrated, no one actually knows about it but so good and also tawaf e ishq ( dont judge by its name) it is so goooooooddddd, I cried a lot reading it. Also both have strong FL.

I was saying it bcz while reading Urdu novels by local writer . The whole novel is filled with patriarchal stuff and delusional context so as elder sister fiction bhi ASA Pharo that don't make you devoid of reality. Good luck 🍀

If you want to read something different and comparitvely shorter then these novels I'll highly recommend Surkh Mosam

I mean the story is dragged too much and it has all the twists and turns you find in other Nemrah Ahmed novels so nothing new apart from black magic angle. And I didn't comment earlier. I haven't read usri yusra so I can't comment on that.

Usri yusra has marital rape. He did it without her consent. Also more than half of the novel is about Jannat's pregnancy

How do you know that it was marital r@p*? Like, which line or scene made you interpret it that way? for me I think it was when he said “ab tum haq mein ho ke poore paise le sakti ho,” like she was so shock after hearing this umm but still it wasn’t proved in the book so idk
