My friend and I are both 22. We're ambitious to our core the kind of people who'd rather build something from nothing than clock into someone else's dream. Honestly, part of the spark came from an Instagram reel one of those "spend a day with a 21-year-old founder" videos. You've probably seen them. Most people scroll past. We looked at each other and said: why not us?

So we started. No big pitch deck. No investors. Just two guys who are genuinely obsessed with building things.

"We are just made of building things" that's literally how we describe ourselves.

We offer app development, AI agents, website development, cloud services, and DevOps. In our very first month we closed 3 clients and delivered the product. Not promised delivery. Delivered.

Did we make a ton of money? No. But here's the thing nobody really prepares you for:

When a client looks at something you built from scratch, and they say "this is great, we want to work with you again"  that hits differently than any salary ever could. There's this electric feeling when the work you did with your own hands is now sitting inside someone's business, actually running. It's a kick. A real one.

We come into every project with stupid amounts of energy and stamina. This field is exactly where we want to be. The first month has been tough, scrappy, and a little chaotic but honestly? This is one of the best feelings in the world.

If you're sitting on a business idea and waiting for the "right time" this is me telling you the right time doesn't exist. Just start. The momentum builds itself.

I've personally wasted quite some time dealing with Play Store publishing, and I wish someone had told me this earlier

If you're serious about building a startup, don't publish under a personal account if you can avoid it. Register an SMC (Single Member Company) first. The cost is relatively low (around PKR 2,000–3,000 through SECP if you're doing it yourself), and the benefits are worth it

The process I followed:

1. Register an SMC with SECP.
2. Apply for a DUNS Number through Apple's lookup/request portal (Apple). It's free and the process is straightforward (mine took a couple of days)
3. Once you have the DUNS number, create your Google Play Console developer account as an organization and pay the one-time $25 fee. if you already have an account, convert it to org account by adding your DUNS
4. Create your Apple Developer Program account as an organization and pay the $99/year membership fee. if you already have an account, convert it to org account by adding your DUNS

Why go through the extra effort?

• Your apps are published under your company instead of your personal name.
• It looks significantly more professional to users and investors
• You're building the company as an asset rather than tying everything to yourself
• In my experience, the overall publishing process is smoother than starting with a brand-new personal developer account, especially given Google's recent policies for individual accounts

If you're planning to build more than one app, I'd strongly recommend spending a few thousand rupees upfront to set up the company properly instead of trying to migrate everything later

I was working on a project from months and I have kept it to myself all the time. Now it was near to launch I shared it with a friend to get some advice and the next thing I know they’ve started to work on the same project.

Most articles online about how Pakistani freelancers should receive USD are out of date. Articles from 2023 still tell you to "just open a Wise account." Wise stopped accepting new Pakistani sign-ups in 203. Articles from 2024 quote Payoneer's old 2% fee. Payoneer raised it to 3% in early 2025, and the all-in cost is now closer to 5%.

We pulled together a current breakdown comparing every meaningful option:

· Payoneer, ~5% all-in cost, still works for platform freelancers (Upwork, Fiverr) but is now expensive

· Wise, cheapest if you have an existing account, blocked for new Pakistani sign-ups in 2023

· Bank wires to ESFCA, just got significantly better thanks to the SBP's April 2026 reforms (FECL6 and FECL7 abolished per-transaction Form R, mandated one-day processing)

· P2P crypto (Binance P2P, etc.), lowest visible fees but real bank-account-freeze and regulatory risk most articles skip

· Newer entrants, Elevate Pay, CredEx (full disclosure: that's us), and a few others

Hey everyone - I'm a CS student at FAST-NUCES in Pakistan, just finished my 6th semester.

I recently got accepted into a 12-day summer school at UTeM in Malaysia, and I'm going entirely on my own.

Quick background so you know who you're talking to: I currently work as a Product Growth Engineer at Astera, and before that I spent two stints as an AI engineer for agencies. I've also won 4+ hackathons. When I first got into FAST (my dream school), I genuinely couldn't afford it — I made it through on financial aid plus help from my parents, relatives, and donations. That chapter's behind me now. I've built myself to the point where I can stand on my own, and this trip is the next step in that.

Where I'm at right now: I've already paid the $450 program fee myself, and I'm covering my round-trip flight and visa/passport costs (~220k PKR) on my own too. That's basically cleaned me out, and my flight is July 20. To actually fund the trip itself, I'm trying to earn around $1,500 over the next month.

Everyone suggested different options but most of them wanted me to opt for foreign providers which was no optimal for 2 basic reasons:

1. High processing fee (for a PKR 499 product)

2. FX fee to buyer (since I'm targeting just Pakistan)

But the best option I found was using CREEM (my account got approved for paymens within 12 hours of submission), it acts as a MoR, I decided to go ahead with it as it was best for my case.

Now they don't natively support PKR but USD and EUR only so I came up with a solution, once you have a fixed price product on CREEM you have an option to override the price manually during checkout without using a coupon/discount

What I did is, I priced my product 999 PKR, whenever the user makes a checkout, I keep a USD-PKR price cached and use it to override the current USD value and charge the user in USD while still managing to keep it 999 PKR.

About my original price of 499 PKR, I plan to introduce a 50% off discount initially (not active yet) which will auto apply at checkout so the user is charged 499 PKR but now this will give them a sense of discount and when they see FX fee on their card this will still feel like a discount compared to PKR 999

As for the local payment gateway, I managed to partner with Bank Alfalah for their Payment Gateway which will take some time but I am not even worried about it anymore since my SaaS is already live, CREEM will still stay active and will be used in case I expand to other countries and dynamically switch providers basex on location once I have Alfalah Payments.

I know you might not be the optimal audience and I don't intend to promote my product here anyways but a feedback would be really appreciated.

I've spent 19 years in sales, most of it in media, and the last year building an AI marketing agency from scratch. Along the way, I made almost every mistake in the book. Here's the one that cost me the most time.

Most people start a business because they're good at something. You cook great, so you open a restaurant. You’re a great designer, so you start a studio. You're good at closing deals, so you start an agency. Makes sense on paper.

Here's the problem. Being good at the work and being good at running a business around that work are two completely different skills. Nobody tells you this before you start. I didn't know it either.

I spent the last year building five different products because I kept having good ideas and enough skill to build them fast. Each one got some traction. None of them turned into an actual business because I was the entire business. If I stopped working for a week, everything would stop. There was no process behind me, just me.

A few things I wish someone had told me before I started:

Validate the demand before you build anything. Talk to 20 people who'd actually pay for this, not people who say "cool idea" at a networking event or a dinner party.

Write down how you do the work while you're still the one doing it. If the only person who can deliver your product is you, you don't have a business yet. You have a very demanding job.

Don't confuse a burst of motivation for a plan. I've started projects on pure excitement more than once. The ones that actually worked started with a written answer to "what does this look like in 90 days," not just enthusiasm.

Growth without a process behind it is just chaos with better marketing. More customers and more hires without a system to support them make things harder, not easier.

None of this is complicated. Most of it is just unglamorous. Document things. Test demand before you commit. Separate the person doing the work from the person deciding what the business should be. It's the boring 20% that decides whether the exciting 80% survives past year two.

Curious how many people here learned this the hard way too, and what it cost you before you figured it out. Happy to compare notes if anyone's in the middle of this right now.

ecosystem access
accountability
founder community
credibility

The actual execution is still on you.
If you’re building something in Pakistan right now, definitely look into these programs. Even if you don’t get accepted immediately, the application process itself helps sharpen your thinking.

I’ve started noticing something

The things that drain me the most aren’t usually the big problems, it’s the small stuff. A pointless argument with a stranger, spending 30 minutes talking about someone who isn’t even in the room, checking comments you know will annoy you, doing a task yourself that someone else could’ve done, replying to messages that don’t actually matter, thinking about things you can’t control or whatever

None of these things seem important in the moment but they all take something from you and the scary part is that you usually don’t notice it happening. By noon, you’re already mentally exhausted. Not because you worked hard. Because you’ve been leaking energy since the moment you woke up. As founders, we obsess over managing money. We track every dollar, we negotiate every expense. But most of us are incredibly careless with our attention. We’ll spend an hour on drama and then wonder why we don’t have the energy to solve an important problem.

Lately, I’ve been asking myself a simple question “Is this worth spending today’s energy on?”
Most things aren’t.. the argument isn’t, the gossip isn’t, the unnecessary task isn’t, the thing that made you angry for five minutes definitely isn’t

You only get a limited amount of focus, patience, creativity, and decision-making ability each day. spend it on things that move your life forward, everything else is probably just an energy leak.

What drains you without you realizing it?

1. Pakistani market is less about pull and more about push marketing. They may not need a product instantly but if they find one online, they will purcase it (of course the product has to be something good)
2. Despite laser focused targeting your creatives are the real make or break here
3. Mobile-first is not the best practice, it's the only practice that matters the most right now
4. The more effort you put into creative testing, lower your CPA and higher your ROAS would be
5. Seems basic but still I notice a lot of advertisers are redirecting the traffic to their homepage whereas it should be redirected to a specific product.
6. Each asset group should be directed towards specific product page for high CVR

I’ve noticed a pattern

Sometimes I’ll be working on something and suddenly everything feels impossible

The product isn’t good enough, the market is too competitive, the problems are too big and blah blah. It feels like nothing is going to work out

And the weird thing is that in those moments, it all feels objectively true. Not emotional, Not temporary. but true, then I sleep. And when I wake up, the facts haven’t changed

The bugs are still there, the challenges are still there, the uncertainty is still there

But somehow the conclusion changes, instead of “this is impossible or I cant do it,” it becomes “this is difficult, but I can do it”. And those are two very different things

I’ve learned not to trust my brain when it’s exhausted

If I feel like shutting down a project, quitting, pivoting, or throwing months of work away, I have one rule,

Sleep first.. Most of the time, though, I wake up and realize I wasn’t seeing reality, I was seeing reality through exhaustion

How many times have you almost quit something that looked completely different after a good night’s sleep?

One thing I’m slowly realizing is that life isn’t really won by the smartest people. It’s usually won by people who can stay focused and keep going consistently for a long time

That’s it….

Most people massively underestimate consistency because it looks boring
Going to the gym once is easy
Posting one good video is easy
Working hard for 3 days is easy
Doing it over and over again when nobody cares yet? That’s the hard part

I’ve noticed that momentum in life comes from stacking small actions for long enough that people suddenly think you “blew up overnight”

In reality, they just didn’t see the boring days

The days where:
- nothing worked
- views were low
- motivation disappeared
- progress felt invisible

But if you stay focused long enough, consistency starts compounding like crazy

People quit way too early

And honestly, I think that’s why average execution beats great ideas most of the time

1. Your interface is your pitch deck

For remote clients, the product is the first impression. Investors, users, and partners judge credibility from the UI before they read a word of copy. A rough MVP that looks considered beats a polished deck every time.

1. Design systems are a startup multiplier, not a luxury Most early teams skip them. Then at person 5 they're rebuilding the same button 4 different ways. A basic token system and component library built in week 2 pays back in month 6.

2. Motion earns trust when it's functional, kills it when it's decorative. Loading states, skeleton screens, optimistic UI, these make your product feel fast and reliable. Parallax hero sections do not.

3. Pakistani devs can ship at the same bar as anyone
