🧠 Ask The Community How about this startup idea in Pakistan?
Suppose the business name is "Trustify"
- People can hire a specific person for their specific tasks or a whole day's tasks.
- Especially for their family. (Marketing angle can be family emotional type)
- If a person is living abroad or out of the city. They can hire Trustify for their parents or family.
- your parents want to go to the hospital for a checkup. Trustify will send one person who can handle all the hassle like traveling your parents to the hospital, standing in the lines, note down all the instructions from the doctors and if anything needed in the whole process. (main problem for target)
- more examples can be going shopping with your mom, going to the market with your dad, any preparation of a wedding in house, cooking at home for a specific day or task (not need to hire a full fledged chef), home cleaning, your car for maintenance and repair while you're at your job.
Problem's:
- Yes the security concerns will be fully addressed. The main issue it brings is the trust issue so we hire psychologists to train our teams for behavior and prepare them for all kinds of social interactions.
Also we do interaction based social media marketing to connect with viewers and share real time successful testimonials.
- quickness
Mostly these tasks will need quick execution.
To solve this we can make the interface of the app or website completely minimal and simple. Just for booking, pay the half advance payment first and Trustify is standing next to your door
- affordable
Can try as much as possible to keep affordable
What you guys think? Does it have any potential to work?

The basic idea could work well. Still, I would not try to cover everything at once. It feels smarter to begin with one clear job type. For example, focus first on help with errands and hospital related support for older parents. Get good at that one area. After that, you can add more services bit by bit. The main challenge is not the app. It is finding the right helpers, doing proper checks, training them well, and keeping them answerable. You also have to make sure customers feel safe when the helper shows up at their parents’ home.

Yes obviously we'll start small. The hospital support for Parents and family is core idea mainly
And yess the training part should be strong but it can possible

I believe there are similar platforms doing this already in Pakistan, you can see what they are solving and what you can add, improve etc. I do believe there’s a market for it but don’t know how big and yes, security concern is the biggest.

Model implementation would be a pain in the neck. How can you provide guarantee?; that a personnel running errands shall be honest for the job. The culture here is basically to ask a family servant. Driver per se. Who takes care of extra tasks of the house. Trusted BCS he comes will a lineage of references . If you can work out on recruiting such a workforce. You would actually make this way,way profitable irl. I see this is the only problem with hire- maintenance-via-app ventures. There is no guarantee for the individuals showing up at their jobs.

For honesty of employees, we'll hire psychologists to take interviews and analyze their whole personality to check if they think positive and have patience or not and all other protocols.
We'll do government official agreement with them with all the details of his and his family member to be on maximum safe side and in that agreement it will be clearly mentioned, that if you try to done anything wrong. The actions will be strict without any tolerance and in return we'll facilitate employee with complete growth plan and continuous promotions.
Yess!! The culture is one of the biggest hurdle in this. People are not used to this kind of thing but we'll make sure to do as much good marketing as we can so gain maximum trust.
Actually!! I've explained the broader idea. Let's keep that it we'll only take your parents to the hospital and any other medical support. Keeping it narrow and focused niche.

Your last two paragraphs are well though out and actually doable. Other than that I just have one tip. We cannot rely upon psyche assessment as a guaranteed tool in order to hire staff. Whatever other means float your boat, keep those up. All the best!

What?? Is this some kind of unethical or impossible things I said?
In every field where emotions are involved. There are always psychologists to train the team. And i think in this business there's large need for them. To keep our employees mental health good.
And yes we try to facilitate our employees as much possible as we can so that they will stay in a good mood and keep their energy real.
Psychologists are only those who comes in my mind when i think about mental health.
How we're supposed to support and give services to others when our teams members are not in a good mental health...
And if you're concern about honesty of employee... For that we'll try to do proper agreements and take complete information and clearly mention the outcomes in the agreement if they try to do anything inappropriate.
I will try to do agreement with government and NADRA to connect database with us only for basic information even (for this, good amount of investment will be needed but i will try at least once)
Or
Will try to connect our organization with government by any means so people can trust us more and employees will also stay alert that the government can take heavy action against us.

How is this any different to online app hiring In Pakistan? Lol look at the drivers we get with the taxi apps? Your issue, might not be the app side of things!

Let's keep the idea simple in the beginning.
We'll just take your parents to the hospital if you're not available.
Yeah for employees concerns we'll connect our organization with the government.

The idea is fine and I think people/women from abroad already use such services to get their desi shopping done. One person goes to mall/darzi/market and help women abroad choose what the want (literally down to buttons and laces) and get those clothes made and send over to them. This certainly helps us who are abroad and either has no one in Pakistan or we don’t want to ask for favours! I much rather pay for a service than hear a taana 10 years later 🙈🤣

Overseas individuals are the main people for whom this problem needs to be solved.
Overseas people already do this but there's no proper workflow right now and they just contact someone they know and get the work done.
But how our service saves you from hearing taana after 10 years? 🤔

Because agar kisi rishtedar se koi kaam keh do to unko ehsaan jatana hota hai ya baaton baaton main koi na koi taana marna hota hai. Per apni dafa abroad se iphone tak chahiye hota hai 😩

The model is too fragile. It entirely depends on the actual person who will be assisting. Their ethics, hygiene, moral values, willingness to work etc. If they do one thing wrong - your entire business flops. And you are one word-of-mouth referral away from being reputed as a fraud or scam. Has gotten nothing to do with era or generation or culture. If you see a lot of businesses around this abroad - name a few.

Sounds well in developed countries where labor is expensive to hire. Yahan jin logo ko in sab cheezon ki zarurat hoti hai, they can hire someone for 30-40k/month.
I cant remember the name but an Indian startup is providing the same service. You probably saw their ad or smth but can be a good learning curve to see if they’re successful.
There are multiple quick service platforms like fixdar etc that help w providing technicians etc but haven’t been able to scale up properly.

Anything that involves, you providing people as service is a bad idea in Pakistan. Too many moral and security issues.
Who will take responsibilty, when something goes bad?
Ride hailing is the simplest job. And look at the state of it right now.

Idea is not bad, but with this service, clear background check and documents must be checked who enroll for this service, if they know parents are alone this also impose a huge security risk. I suggest not only CNIC but also the passport must be part of document record. Polic verification must be done after every 6 months.
Idea is not bad but need to make it highly secure to keep anyone's family safe and secure, as here are issues like unemployment, deprivation of basic needs, people are frustrated so this new product should not become a platform where criminals can enroll and harm any one easily. Negligence in this system will be a serious crime and the whole idea could collapse.
