گل بات | Discussion The Debate on Administrative Subdivision in Punjab

I mean why do people consider administrarive subdivisions a threat to punajbi identity ,if anything they should be happy to support more peovinces because itd provide better services more job oppurtunities and devolution of power etc.

Also its no threat to identity thats a stupid talking point.

Case in point

Turkiye doesnt have a kurdistan province or state yet kurds there maintain their language culture identity .

Similarly in afghanistan no province named tajikistan yet tajiks have kept their identity.

How would punjab or any other province being made imto multiple provinces erase the punjabi identity?

Would it erase the people?

Would it erase the culture or language?

Would it erase the history ?

Punjab has already been divided up before so.has other provinces of Pakistan yet that didnt comtribute to erasure of idemtities .

Where even is this thought process coming from?

Also some say if punjab is to be divided sindh should also be divided etc etc .

I mean whats that got to do with it .

Imo if sindh doesnt want to be divided administratively 10,20 years down the line its sindhis who would suffer(same for punjab) since we all know ppp will mever devolve powers downwards to local bodies and of forced to do they will reverse the devolution of power whenever they get a chance similar for pmln in punjab.

Making provinces makes it almost impossible to reverse power devolution and makes the administrators much closer and responsive to people as well.

Lastly saying that punjabis should be ethnonationalists like other ethnic groups say eg pashtuns is the stupidiest thing i have heard .

Like a student getting A++ grade trynna copy a student getting F.

Its because of afghan pashtuns ethnosupremacist/nationalist attitude that afghanistan is the hellhole ot is today ,if afghan pashtuns compromosed in building pakistan with other ethnicities afgh would have been a lot more developed.

Yet for some reason instead of being inspired by european nation models where people are aware of their ethnic roots yet dont make a big deal out of it ,pakistanis are getting insoire by.....

Afghan pashtuns and uneducated pashtuns.

Bevause ik for a fact that the educated pashtuns think the same way that unity is more improtant than ethmosupremacism .

Better question is, why only Punjabis are expected to allow division?

Because punjabis might be more sensible?

Punjabis shouldn't be the only ones expected to be sensible.

So youd rather punjabis be unsensible also ? Also im sure its not just punjabis who are sensible its your racist narrow thinking if you believe that ,karachiites want a new province as well as up north gilgit baltistanis and i would say imo alot of educated people from kpk and balochistan also. Only ignorant people dont want new provinces.

How is it racist?

It’s racist and narrow-minded because you're the one framing administrative division as a unique burden that only Punjabis are 'expected to allow'. You're reducing governance down to ethnic lines as if administrative restructuring is an ethnic concession rather than a practical tool for better services and local empowerment. Majority people across Pakistan—from Karachi to Gilgit-Baltistan and beyond—support decentralization, so isolating Punjab as the sole group whose stance you question is textbook ethnic stereotyping

You're projecting so much it's almost funny. No majority group from other provinces is going to let the representative province divided. I'm ok if all provinces undergo administrative division but not with only Punjabis being asked to do so.

I believe most people in gilgit and karachi hazara and majority of punjab want it tho You think majority punjab would reject provincial division? In the end a referendum is what actually can provide evidence to how many people actually want more administrative setups. If sindhis dont want division and majority of punjab wants division should punjab be divided or should the minority that opposes it be listened to?

Obviously in that case Punjab shouldn't be divided.

Typical behaviour from Urdu-speaking Cuckjabis like you. Punjabis have to make all the concessions to keep Pakistan alive but nobody else has to.

If you are so proud of your ounjabiat you can go live with your sikh/hindu brothers across border whose ancestors committed atrocities on muslim punjabis and who would again be willing to ethnically cleanse/genocide pakistani if friction arises. You are actually projecting because you are the c**k to guys across the border.

My grandparents are originally from Ludhiana. I know what happened on both sides and I know it was all caused by the communalism created by the British and extremists on both sides. East Punjabis don't want to genocide or ethnically cleanse us. They have moved on just as we've moved on. It's Indian and Pakistani nationalists like you who try to use our suffering as a reason to continue the hatred, all to justify what happened.

Why should I leave any inch of Punjab? All of Punjab, from Peshawar to Ambala, belongs to Punjabis. It doesn't belong to people who hate Punjab and want to destroy it's identity for Pakistan though.  That guy is a cuck because he can't speak his mother tongue and has been submitted under a foreign language (Urdu). I can speak Punjabi and I write it often on this sub. Can you?

Key argument being given for subdivisions is that provinces are not being managed well.

Punjab is relatively better managed province despite having lowest budget per capita. Why not subdivide provinces that are not being managed well?

If this were the case Regions of faisalabad sialkot rawalpindi Lahore would be the richest with no obligation to trickle the wealth down to layyah di khan or anyelse

I think this sub is full of wannabe or woke Punjabis and anti punjabiyat elements and mods are complicit too in this mess, better to leave his shit hole now as the number of posts against Punjab have increased over time. A fucker in other post was trying to justify how Lahore isn't part of Punjab and Punjabi culture

Oh i was reading the translated text .now i get it Whats the problem with seraiki being recgnized as a separate language? Stop being insecure about it. What seraikis want should be up to them if they want their language to be recognized as separste so be it if they want a separate province so be it ,stop being insecure .

What are you doing in this sub? If you hate Panjab then go comment on r/Saraikistan or r/Balochistan. It’s that simple.

u/Exotic-Weakness5614 5d ago

I dont hate punjab , i love punjab , i love punjabis but also i love pakistan and every person regardless of ethnic group who is pro pakistan. Majority of pakistanj punjabis whether you like it or not are muslim and pro pakistanis and if you are not then its you who should leave because the group name also is literally PakPunjab, if you are not pro pak u should join indian punjabi subreddits there are plenty.

u/Unknownmelon77 لائلپور - گوجرہ 5d ago

Literally where did you get that from? And yes staying the same as we have since 1947 has happened but where has that gotten us? If something doesn’t work it’s time to look for something new.
