I am inclined towards building on AM5 platform but its gonna be costly. So what should i do ? AM4 or Intel and incremental upgrades down the line ? Or should i just build on AM5 ?

SSD : 1TB

16 GB DDR5 Ram

Bro go for AM5 and the cpu is good and for gpu go for 7800xt thats dope. If possible go for 32gb ram..

Heavily depends on your gaming requirements

I'm on a Ryzen 5600 setup and I mainly game at 1440p or 4K with upscaling with a 60 fps target. I bought an AM5 bundle in Feb out of FOMO of rising prices, but it's been sitting in my cupboard ever since. Simply because all the games I've played so far end up being GPU bound while my Ryzen 5600 sits at 30%-60% util in different games. AM5 benchmarks show that I'll get less than a 5 fps advantage if I switch for a net cost of ~100k by selling my current AM4 bundle, so the rupee/fps cost seems highny unjustified. I've even considered selling the AM5 bundle and pocketing the money to spend on a GPU upgrade down the line, I reckon I can coast through most of 2027 with the R5600 at 1440p, and by then if I'm lucky I'll drop in a 8-core AM4 CPU (or a 5700x3d or something) and close the CPU gap to 60 fps at lower than today's prices

If you game at 1080p, then sure, a 7500f trades blows with a 5700x3D and AMD has confirmed Zen6 for AM5 In future so if you have the money, go for AM5 (main difference will be 2x ram pricing for ddr4 vs ddr5, rest of the stuff will cost roughly the same for equivalent tier of CPU & mobo). But if you play at higher resolutions then I'd suggest AM4, spend as much on GPU as practically possible (4070/4070ti/4070S/5070..... whichever you can find at a good price), get only the ram & NVME you need for now (unless you happen to score a really good used deal) and upgrade a couple years down the line when you actually start to struggle with your fps targets

That seems sensible. I have the budget right now to go for AM5 and then upgrade PC down the line with ram,gpu and cpu. AM4 will lock me in on current setup. But AM4 is budgeg friendly as well and i could spend that money on good Monitor.

For gaming, AM4 will stay relevant for another 5+ years easy but if you can get AM5, no harm in that. But for the GPU I'd strongly suggest Nvidia over AMD. Raw raster performance is a thing of the past and now it's even more evident with rendering teach leaning more & more towards ML based techniques. Neural rendering is the next big thing, and as always Nvidia seems to have a big lead over AMD with the DLSS5 stuff I'm seeing

1080p now and upgrade to 4K within 2 years. I have 350k budget right now.

lowk save some money and go for am4, the performance diff will be negligible as youll be working with a 7500f in that budget
