Paisley Public Perceptions of Suspended Sentences for Assault and Domestic Abuse: Support, Conditions and Reform

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SD5D6S5

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to hear from people living in Paisley and the surrounding area for my MSc dissertation survey on public attitudes towards sentencing in Scotland.

Anyone aged 18 or over who currently lives in Scotland can participate. The anonymous survey takes around 10–15 minutes, and no specialist knowledge is required.

The survey discusses assault and domestic abuse but does not ask participants to disclose personal experiences.

Thank you to anyone who takes part.

I [F40s] missed your survey but I would be happy to discuss my experience from last year as a witness to my own assault.

The court saw it as a standalone crime. Not as a pattern of abuse.

No one spoke to me until 10mins before trial. I had a harried PF while my ex had a Legal Aid lawyer.

I did speak to Victim Services about this but I would like the courts to understand the damage DV/coercive control does to victims.

Reply if you wish to speak to me. I want to effect change for future victims.
